That is around the time my father told me a story when he was doing some aerial surveying work for the gov and was greeted by a couple of angry Russian Soviet Mig 29 or 31 through the company he worked for that contracted out that job. Anyways, they was surveying the Aleutian islands out there in the Bearing Sea in a modified Learjet for camera work I assume?? My dad was really good in technical drawing and map making drafting. I remember his mechanical calculator he had. Skills he learned in the service. Anyhoo, A couple of our birds scrambled out of Eleson AFB after a couple calls to the tower. They was clearly in our airspace out there at the tip islands, but they always was right there and very threatening. The F14 got there pretty darn fast and escorted them out without a major national incident. We lived in Alaska, Fairbanks and I was just a little guy then. I don't remember much but lots of cold snow, and riding my big red metal pedal powered firetruck I just got for Christmas :-)

They keep provoking Russia unfortunately its very likely we would be at DefCon 2.

Poor Russia is being provoked...
I see a massive invasion from Russia into another neighbouring state.
Any provocation is by the Russian forces on Ukrainian soil.

Any assistance given to Ukraine can hardly be called provocative.

FEMA releases the nuclear target map.

A map issued by FEMA in 2015 is making the rounds again amid the Russian war in Ukraine.

It outlines possible targets in every US state, mostly located in the east, but also along the Californian coast. In the west, Colorado, Montana, North Dakota and Wyoming have clusters of targets noted on the map. Some of the larger targets include active nuclear plants located in various states.

Would YOUR neighborhood be targeted in a nuclear conflict? Official map shows the 2,000 locations across the US most at risk

It appears that the US is about to become the world's biggest producer of glass. 💥

The S400 was supposed to be the best IADS in the world, but it hasn't done particularly well so far against Ukraine forces. The Pantsir S1 is supposed to be one of the best point defense systems ever built, capable of bringing down PGMs, cruise missiles, and UAVs.

The B-52 won't get "shredded by Russian air defenses" because it won't get in range of them. The B-52 is no longer a penetrating bomber, and will launch JASSM, JASSM-ER, and other missile systems from long range, outside the range of Russian and Chinese IADS.

Yes, this is something to be concerned about, but as we've seen from the Ukraine invasion, Russian equipment doesn't live up to the hype. A lot of Chinese equipment is Russian equipment that's been license built or copied.

No one is about to launch any Nukes Who would want to expose their children to such a thing . Its just a stupid concept 80 year old dictators wanting to destroy the world. Sure they have underground Oasiss but their life styles would make that become old real fast .

I remember when it went to DEFCON 1 in 1983 due to the malfunctioning WOPR system. That was a close call!
