Biden shot it down. Why not shoot it down before it sends all its information to the Chicoms?

Suppose it was spreading a new strain of Covid? Probably not Covid, but it would be good to know exactly what its mission was.

If the US recovered the pieces then they could figure out what the balloon was for.

Let's be honest. Any reconnaissance capabilities this balloon may have actually had were shut down the second it was detected in US airspace.

This seems like a show created to appease a certain portion of the population, while the actual balloon continues to inertly float with nobody actually able to detect it, outside the military.

They could just put it in the disposable nicotine vapes if they wanted to… or you know, use human mules since the world has an exchange of people every day.

I do suspect it was a spy balloon however. Everything else seems hyperbolic. People keep speculating to make this into the biggest event of our times.

Was this meaningful? Absolutely. Is it unprecedented? No. All the major powers have spy satellites and probe each others air defenses to see their reaction. That doesn’t make it a nothing burger or meaningless… but Jesus, the master thread is filled with people loosing their minds and seeing how creative they can get about how this is the end of the world.
