Longer than that, don’t forget the times when US companies moved manufacturing to China, and China buying up US businesses, they were “our new friends”. That was a big transitional period. The US basically sold-out, and now we are seeing the consequences.

Sounds like china is playing a serious game while Americans want to make sure eveyone in the army can have access to transgender surgery

And people need to understand that those who push these radical ideas have been most likely compromised by the enemy. They push these idea because it will stall things and weaken things.

America is in a big stall period, not much invention, no new technology. And this is becaus of the arguing over stupid topics...

Some thoughts.

I think its more about money than loyalties. Wall Street has heavily invested in the Chinese industrial base. We buy 28 percent of our goods from China and have few domestic sources to supplant that supply chain with if there was a sudden falling out. If they shot down this balloon over the lower 48, and the instrumentation bay was recovered, bristling with spy tech, that is a front-page admission that our financiers, corporations, etc., are in bed with a clear enemy with an agenda against us. It would require a clear response from the govt, that could end up in sanctions or worse, and the fallout would be no more cheap goods from China, American corporations would be banned from operating there, etc. Imagine the economic repercussions of that, given the already very shaky ground we are on at present. The banks and investors have joined us at the hip to a monster, and now that monster may be interested in eating/absorbing us. But we can't go to war anymore because we are intimately connected economically, and don't forget the US debt that they hold. There is just saber rattling largely to keep the populations worried and distracted from domestic issues. Even so, there is always the possibility of a miscalculation and a resulting global conflagration. But that also points to the single biggest underlying problem we have in 2023; there are those who want to get rich no matter what the consequences to society at large and they are only getting stronger. I am sure it's not a short list of people who don't want these things exposed to the sunlight. To be fair, we must routinely over fly China and spy on them as well. It's just an indication of how dangerous the world is becoming, because those in power are more interested in preserving their portfolios than the peace.

And several Republican lawmakers are demanding the FBI investigate.

The suspected Chinese communist mole, or spy, is Dominic Ng, CEO of East West Bank, appointed by Biden to represent the U.S. at the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC).

In a letter to FBI Director Christopher Wray the lawmakers wrote: “We request the FBI investigate and provide a report to Congress on the extent of Mr. Ng’s knowledge of sensitive information, as well as any potential violations of The Espionage Act.”

The lawmakers add: “The Biden Administration has allowed the CCP to infiltrate the third-party sector and, consequently, political leaders that have existing relationships to these groups, and are privy to U.S. intelligence.”
