Mass Shooting Reported in Monterey Park, CA on seen Deputy says it an isolated incidence

Update Fox news.

Police have cornered a suspect in white van. This is a standoff.

They have cleared up some information. There were two attempted attacks last night. The first was the dancehall where the 10 were killed. The suspect fled to another dancehall. He attempted it again but was grabbed and disarmed before causing injuries. He then got away and fled in the white van.

Official news conference update soon.

Suspect in van is reported to have shot himself. Other details of his condition are unknown.

Police now seem to be standing down and possibly waiting on coroner.

Suspect likely dead.

Well, I may eat my words, but I'm willing to put imy 2 cents out there. This is a "hate crime"; Self Loathing. I'm betting that the shooter found out a former lover was celebrating the new year with someone who is not him at the dance studio, went into a rage and shot up the place, then killed himself.

KTLA 5 is reporting the driver of the white van is not alive, and appears to have died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Chinese on Taiwanese? The last time elderly Asians were shot at, it was that. Shooter was Chinese and he was angry about the China Taiwan thing. He tried to mass murder a bunch of elderly Taiwanese in their church.

I wonder if this is like the attemped mass shooting at that church where the elderly Asians took the shooter down only losing one of their own in the process. Turned out it was Chinese/Taiwanese spillover. The shooter was Chinese and the people in the church were from Taiwan.

Given the politics, the story was dropped like a hot potato.

This was my immediate assumption -- Taiwanese political issue bigger than hell maybe, all current things considered?

At this time 3 years ago New York and California officials were telling Asian Americans to ignore the warnings about COVID-19 coming out the Trump administration. To go out have a good time... do not fear that little virus.

They usually don't call in the coroner for folks that are still alive!

Fox news was speculating on the need for the corner. They do have to check before moving the body.

Too bad. He can't answer questions now. At least he did not take any more with him.

Update: Fox news

They have just stated that the shooter was a dance instructor at one of the attack areas years ago. He may have been looking for his wife or ex wife there as his main target.

Sounds like a bad relationship and not racial or political as some have speculated.

These shootings seem to be a strange disturbing phenomenon.

People going lunatic for the new lunar year.

There was another shooter who killed 7 in Half Moon Bay 2 days after this one.
