Happened about an hour ago.
Buffalo Bills 24 year old, 2nd year safety Demar Hamlin made a tackle on a seemingly routine play and stood up and then collapsed.
They brought an ambulance on the field and proceeded to perform CPR on him.
Scary scene, never seen anything like it.
The game has been temporarily suspended.
No update on the player’s condition.

Although not unusual , but I do think we are living now with a lot of uncertainty.

I've seen some comments that it looks like a certain type of hit that could jar your heart, but you see hits like that one all the time. It didn't even look particularly hard. He didn't take the force of impact to the chest in a concentrated manner. It was spread out from what I could see.

That is scary.

The hit didn’t look all that violent.
He even stood up after then just collapsed.

If he wouldnt have gotten up after the hit, Id buy that.

Plus, the shoulder padding extends to the sternum, neck and upper spine to dispace such forces.

Not saying youre wrong though.

the way it happened is unusual. Everyone. Every single expert is saying so.
It is horrible. It was horrible to watch.

Stood up just fine. Then, just collapsed. And we have seen that over and over and over.

That's what I mean by it being scary. I can't see that the hit itself was something that should provoke that.

I saw it happen live and I thought WTF happened?
I’ve seen 10X worse hits multiple times every game.
You just never know.

Prayers for this young man.

Unfortunately weve been seeing this all too much.

I played hockey growing up. We always heard that if you took a hit hard enough to the chest at just the right moment (at a certain point of the cycle), there’s a chance that your heart could go into cardiac arrest. It’s well documented, this happened to Chris Pronger twenty some years ago. The video should be on YouTube.

I’m very skeptical of the Covid vax but my money is on what I stated above.

I remember that game, the Blues were playing the Red Wings in the playoffs.
Pronger took a puck to the chest off a slap shot and he went down.

Ya it was scary. Happened to a kid on another team in our league (I was around 16 and played travel). It was a body check and it stopped his heart. He only survived because they had a defibrillator on site.

I’m willing to bet that’s what happened to this Bills player.

I like how the first thing the doctor says in the video is ‘it’s not due to the vaccine’.

I’m not saying it was due to the vax.

However, if the player had a cardiac arrest on impact, how was he able to bounce up so swiftly moments later?

Well that’s the first thing brought up when someone collapses so I can understand his mentioning the jab.
People like to joke about how the good ole regular flu has disappeared during the pandemic but don’t see the irony in saying every heart attack or whatever heart problem is because of the jab.
