Better yet, why would they need to do this at all, don't they already own the power companies, can't they just pull the switch that's already installed in every facility as part of their normal operating gear?

I believe the true culprit is Climate Change.

There is so much carbon in the atmosphere and the ozone hole is getting so large, that people are using their AC too much , even in winter, since it's also Global Warming.

More likely it's a breakdown due to them cutting the maintenance budget and not investing in new gear.

Didn't I see something in early 2020 about China Joe giving them when more control than they already had?

They don't own our grid as I understand it, but the computerized components to keep the grid working have been outsourced to China for many years.

I remember one senator calling for the end to this practice, and if I'm not mistaken it was Trump that cancelled the practice.

There have been many times other countries have been caught getting into our grid via the computer system it's now based on.

People used to worry about such important things becoming computerized, but it fell on deaf ears in the name of profit- er..... I mean 'progress'.

Just wait until digital currency!
