Did this just start happening because I have heard the 5.15 had a high usage issue. Not sure of the cause but 5.16 addressed or corrected it according to my coworker who was having a similar issue.

Oh trust me I am an AMD fan boy all the way back to the AthlonXP.

Intel Xeons have their use case.

This is self induced, it is not a virus or malware of any shape or form.

Too many sleeping threads in a highly threaded app?

Would sleeping apps cause cpu resources to be consumed?

This is a multi threaded application consuming lots of cpu resources.

Would you intentionally make a mistake? Maybe if you are practicing penetration testing i suppose.

I will give you another hit, it has nothing to do with virtualization.

Does it have anything to do with all those running processes?

It can if the threaded app is in a thread-lock state waiting for itself to continue. I am not a Linux power user so I could be way off here, I am a MS full-stack dev but I have had to visit Linux rabbit holes from time to time. I usually have other devs on my team that are more familiar with Linux deal with that domain. I think linux calls it a spin-lock something...

a reply to: SmokeygurlI wouldn't think that the number of processes is too crazy, as long as they are quickly spawning and getting killed before the resource pool can recover. Just my thought on the matter.

I can assure you that there are no sleeping processes. This application is alive 24/7.
