My 2 sons are GenZ and they are surprisingly conservative in their views.

We let them come to their own conclusions philosophically and politically.

I think it's more the "establishment" that is the problem and trying to push them away from where they naturally sit in their views.

My 2 cents.

Fiscally and Socially?

Are they more accepting of gay people then your generation?

You vote for the politician. He smiles and says "shovel ready". It doesn't happen despite billions spent, and when called on it at re-election, he shrugs and says "turns out they weren't that shovel ready". You still vote for him.

Great job holding him to account.

"Than", sorry, OCD.

I'm not sure what you mean by accepting? Does that mean they have to promote it?

But yes, they are accepting of ALL people, they were taught to treat ALL people the same, no special treatment because someone whines the loudest.

They are accepting, they went through grade 8 with a gay classmate and they were all friends.

Those issues aren't as tied into politics here though, as we've crossed that river quite some time ago.

Capitalism at one time made sense. It does not make sense anymore. Unless you are a Corporate Stock owning Capitalist.

It's not black and white...

Do you realize how many wage slaves have stocks thru stock options their company offers. That's exactly how I got started with investing. I invest in the productions I work on even though I'm just a grunt. Even grunts can be Associate Producers if they choose. It's risky but sometime you strike gold.

The USofA is still one of the few "land of opportunity" left. It takes research, hard work and knowledge how the system work; If you are to lazy to make that effort, then you deserve what you get.

You know me so well, right?

You do know politicians voting records are publicly available.

Of course, unless like Trump and Kari Lake they have no political record.

We were having a great discussion about economics, now it turned into the mudpit with snark and political rancor.

I'm out...

Always find it funny when people point out social programs in a capitalist society, that is a far cry different from socialism.

That said the other thing I find funny is when one party gets blamed for bowing down to the corporations, especially considering how deep blackrock has its hooks in the biden administration that had the house and a slim majority in the senate.

Considering what professional politicians have done to the country, could citizens truly hurt us worse?

My economic life is way harder now and looks much more bleak moving forward with biden economics than it did 3 years ago.

I'm 76 - raised my kids - helped raise my 20+ grandkids - and em now raising my 15-year-old grandson.

So, like 4 generations including my own.

Accepting differences in people has evolved over these generations. My mom was a polio victim, accepting disabled people in the baby boomer gen was a thing.

And I'm glad your kids have evolved within their gen. But some are still "holding the line" and not accepting.

Would you hire a dentist if you needed a heart surgeon?

Any job requires some knowledge and experience -- unless you're at the intern level.

Apples and airplanes comparison.

Professional politicians like Joe Biden, and Paul Ryan have done NOTHING but line their own pockets at the expense of the middle class.

Vast majority of the founding fathers were not professional politicians, they had worked and lived in the private sector long before entering politics. Check mate.

And Trump lined the pockets of his Family and Friends by his appointments during his term.

Golfed at his own resort on the taxpayers dime.

It's not a Dem or Repub issue.

It's just modern politics.

Have you actually researched their political backgrounds?

For what they actually did do -- whether you agree with it or not.

I recommend everyone work in their local political office. It's a lot harder than you seem to think.

I dont care about trump he isnt in office anymore.

Lets look at the last two years, What I see right now 4 bucks a gallon for milk, 4.39 a gallon for gas, nearly 5 a gallon for heating oil, 6+ for disel, and he has vowed to run fossil fuels out of business with NOTHING ready to replace them.

thats with a "professional" politician in charge who thinks you can spend your way out of inflation.

Trump didnt do that level of damage, not even close!

Ryan went college, congressional aide holding office.

Sleepy joe has been doing politics for 50+ years and done nothing but make the average americans life harder, thats enough to know a "professional" liar isnt all its cracked up to be. (check his political history its easy enough to see)

We have had professionals in charge longer than I have been alive, and the dollar has steadily declined, and the american dream is harder to acheive.

I dont understand your love affair with people that dont want to help people, and just want to enrich themselves.

By the way my two examples were 1 gop, 1 dnc.

Trust me, I'm no fan of Biden nor the Green New Deal.

I'm a gas and oil girl.

The EV economy is a sham.

I have no love for politicians, aside from Bernie.

At least he tries to bring the average American back into the forefront of the discussion.

Good conversation. Closest we've come to seeing eye to eye on something.

BUT

I'll also hope that those who have conservative values will be "accepted" with this evolution you speak of.

I'm more conservative than you might think.

But I'm a social liberal when it comes to Equal Rights and Equal Choice.

Having grown up with a disabled mom since I was 6 -- before the Disability Act -- was an eyeopener. It's sad that people have to be forced to treat the "different" with decency.

I'll leave on good terms and leave the whole "people have to be forced" thing alone.

Stay safe Annee.
