Today, the Democratic Party formally won the Senate midterm elections when US Senator Catherine Cortez-Masto was re-elected to the Senate (the US Senate race in Georgia between Democratic incumbent Senator Raphael Warnock and former football player Herschel Walker is headed to a run-off, but that's another story). Donald Trump is saying that Mitch McConnell let down incumbent GOP senators and GOP Senate hopefuls in the midterms by refusing to resign as the Senate GOP leader, and Senator Rick Scott felt upper disappointment that the GOP's messaging on inflation and crime during the midterms failed to sway GOP voters to reject Democratic congresspersons at the ballot box. Trump and Scott's dismay at the Republican National Committee for not aggressively wooing Republican voters to vote for Senate Republicans at the polls raises questions about whether McConnell could resign as Senate Minority Leader and whether Rick Scott or a younger Senator could take his place as Senate GOP leader. Alternately, Scott could step down as National Republican Senatorial Committee because he was involved in the GOP's unsuccessful efforts to win back the Senate.

I think they need to realize that Trump is just the symptom of the revolt from their voters.

McConnell is trying to kill off the voters to "save" his limo branch of the party, and that's the wrong move. I've been around the blogosphere for a long time, and Trump just voiced what a lot of voters had been thinking. The discontent was real and it's out of the barn door now. The voters won't follow the milquetoasts.

The GOP are going through an identity crisis and there's a good chance it will cost them the Presidency in 2024.

Hilarious, and Self inflicted by the GOP. Let’s hope this encourages some bipartisanship in the upper and lower chambers….I am ever the optimist.

Let's be honest. It does not matter which political party is in "control". That word is relative to the ones who are controlling the politicians which has always been the globalists.

Regardless if a republican or democrat is in the oval office it is always the same level of tripe. You and I end up becoming more and more taxed, enslaved, and there is nothing we can ever do about it.

Until people literally wake up and stop the completely useless back and forth about which party is "better" we should unite and simply no longer obey any of the enslavement laws.

Imagine what would happen if literally 1/2 of the entire country decided to no longer "go along" anymore.

Hell...it wouldn't even take 1/2....a number as small as 25% would suffice.

(imo) The Biggest threat to the GOP is Biden being replaced by a competent Democrat, before the Summer of 2024.

This guy on MSBC was panicking because over 210 "election deniers" were either retained or voted into top political positions. I don't know where he got the numbers, but he kept saying "our democracy is facing a crisis that could destroy the country".

These people must have done something really horrible....and may still be doing it. No wonder the corrupt FBI is trying so hard to find the "ultra sensitive" documents Trump hid from them!

Idk. I used to think it didn't matter either but then RvW got overturned. That wouldn't have happened if Democrats were in power. There are consequences for one party being in power over another. Something I've been coming to terms with over the past 2 years. I also don't think Democrats are the enemy they're made out to be.

The fact that the GOP are on the verge of not even being able to take the House in a gimme Midterm and have already resorted to infighting should tell you all you need to know about the current state of the GOP.

How do you fix that in less than two years?

Voting is useless because more people voted for the Party that was supposed to lose? That seems like a textbook case of how well voting works.

Thing is, X, history will show you if you were to take a look that those folk who chose not to go along anymore were shoved aside by those who were content to do so. The ones who could smell the coffee in other words.

To you they would be the sheep, the suckers, the gutless, the pathetic, the losers.

Weird huh?

This was all predicted years ago, here on ATS even.

That Trump was a Rothschild implant. That he would serve his purpose and destabilize everything everywhere. And then when his groomed role was done, he would be so utterly destroyed, nobody would ever think of moving into the upper echelons of the uber wealthy, as he has attempted to. It was also predicted that on his way down he would destroy the republican party and it would take decades for it to rebuild.

All of this is well on the way of becoming reality. The GOP is in disarray and it will be a long time before things get better. Biden and the dems' midterm is second only to Kennedy's, and that was ages ago. And Biden isn't even doing that great. Sure, he's doing great on foreign policy standing up to dictators everywhere, but things aren't that peachy here at home. Prices are high, interest rates are high, housing market slowed, food is expensive etc... and still the dems had unexpectedly solid midterms. Not because they're awesome, but because the republicans just can't get it together.

Also remember Trump was a Democrat for a long time.
Maybe he still is……..

Wouldn’t that be the biggest conspiracy of them all.

Keep your friends close, and your enemies closer!

the problem is on both sides of the line as we're at the pivot point where real breakthrough parties appear and the others consigned to the history books..

the hints have been there since Bush, the withdrawal of consent to be governed by the other side gets worse each election, this process of self destruction is not just limited to the USA or US politics but is fairly universal as our dividing lines are sifting faster than the politicians can keep up.

they are all dangerously out of touch...
