For a long time Dr who has been on a slippery slope with the change.

Now sadly it’s going to be produced under a joint venture.

It’s unfortunately going to go full woke, and destroy my memories of the Doctor.

I gave up midway through the capaldi years.

It wasn’t the same.

It’s just getting worse.

Dr. Who was over a long time ago. It's a damn shame.

Disney has no control over the show, it's only being put on disney+ for now atleast.
The Jodie and Chinballs run was awful, but the show is safe now.

Russel T Davies is back, the show is in safe hands.
Phil Collinson is also back with the possibilty of Murray Gold coming back too.
It's being produced by Bad Wolf Productions and they've made a sub company WHO1, which implies the possibility of other spin offs, just like there was with Torchwood and the Sarah Jane Adventures. RTD did the MCU before it was cool.
We may even get a netflix quality time war series with McGann etc.

Also Russel has always handled the political stuff well. He isn't woke, I would go so far as to say he's anti-woke.

We owe the revival's success to Russel T Davies.
If it weren't for Russel or Christopher Ecclestones fantastic performance we would simply not have Doctor Who right now.

It was all down to his ability to bring it up to date for a modern audience, while sticking to the core of the show without cluttering it up with unnessecary canon. If there's one thing for sure it's that he can write good television.

Not to mention the fantastic world building.
Here's a good video on the topic.

OK apparently I was wrong the BBC did give the license to Disney.
This is going to crash and burn like Star Wars.
Praying for a miracle.

Jon Pertwee was the best Doctor for me, along with Peter Cushing who was in the films as they were charming and charismatic as well as eccentric. Those were the good old days. For a modern Doctor, it has to be David Tennant.

I second that, loved Jon Pertwee. Probably over Baker, even if Baker is the "quintessential Doctor"
Delgado and Pertwee played off each other wonderfully and it's a real shame he died in the car crash in the 70s.

Yeah Tennant would probably be my new who favourite, but for critical acting ability and the way they portrayed the Doctor definitely have to give Eccleston a big credit, Capaldi too.

No Tennant is Re-appearing for three of Russels 60th Anniversary specials, Ncuti Gatwa is the next doctor.

From the little clip of Ncuti I reckon he'll be great. Seems like he can pull off the serious acting too. I also have faith In Russel's casting.

Neil Patrick Harris is also playing the Celestial Toymaker for these specials.

Full backpedal and trying to relive a better past, doesn’t strike me as particularly safe.

Wonder if the BBC gave them notice, i.e “Get the ratings back or you’re going on hiatus again”. Anyway it looks like grasping at straws to me.
