Taiwan can wait. Asian Russia is a much better prize and much of the population is willing. The Chinese have made many statements about Vladivostok in the past. Maybe they can cut a deal with Russia to annex it peacefully? Is that why Putin wants annex Ukraine?

Time will tell.

As Russia Gets Weaker, Xi Jinping May Forgo Taiwan To Grab Eastern Russia

www.forbes.com...

But if China’s modern efforts at territorial expansion has taught observers anything, it is that China’s expansionism is opportunistic, with leaders preferring to expand into areas that are contested or loosely held. Rather than fight, China grabs. And, as Russia’s conventional forces are getting ground up in Ukraine, the best strategic return comes from pressing north, along China’s 2,615 mile frontier with Russia, and grabbing territory there.

Vladivostok, Russia’s military and commercial gateway to the Pacific, is still described in China by the city’s old Chinese name, Haishenwai, or “sea cucumber bay.” Chinese resentment over the centuries old agreements that established China’s northern frontier remains a society-wide staple. There has been speculation for years that the great demographic imbalance between China and Russia’s depopulating Far East could encourage Beijing to press north.

The foundation for a northern territorial claim—albeit a flimsy one—to an even wider swath of Russia’s far East territories exist. Chinese historic records suggest Chinese explorers reached the Arctic during the Tang Dynasty—if not before—allowing China to chip away at Russia’s territorial legitimacy. Even if the claims might be extravagant, the mental gymnastics would be worthwhile. Getting a foothold—any foothold—north of the Arctic circle allows China to formally claim status as an Arctic—if not a Polar—power.

Two things:
China doesn't need to invade Taiwan because of the one China policy implemented by the American government. Which the American government seems to have conveniently forgotten about. Much like the Minsk accord...

Second anyone not just consuming western propaganda knows the Russians aren't technically loosing. Plus the people living in the Donbas and Crimea areas are pretty resilient and would probably oppose the Chinese much like they oppose the genocidal Kiev regime.

Forbes = Pro-war
NO WAR WITH RUSSIA.
NO WAR WITH CHINA.

America is currently the most propagandized people on the planet. They need us to support WWIII. BE BRAVE OPPOSE WAR.

More Fantasies from the same Media that wishes to see a decolonization of Russia.

As for their claim that "Russia gets Weaker"

Europe is the one getting Weaker.

This one thing that the Mainstream News Media will not yet admit.

Russia and China recently both had militarily ships near Alaskan borders.

US patrol spots Chinese, Russian naval ships off Alaskan island

This whole Forbes article is nothing more than rubbish.

Time will tell.

China and Russia are together in BRICS.

When considering Russia had agreed to make a pipeline project with China.

In other words that article is nothing more than a decolonization of Russia conference fantasy.

What are you smoking? NOBODY is suggesting China is interested in the Donbas or Crimea? How could you suggest that with a straight face? And yeah, Russia is losing.

Currently Ukraine hanst being able to take on the Russian forces in Kershon if i believe that is the name after weeks of fighting.

Ukrainians had taken heavy losses.

I suppose Ukraine is only winning if you watch the MSM and still believe that they will be able to back Crimea and all the four regions..

It's a mess for sure, War is ugly. How much Russians are willing to bleed is the real outcome. They are clearly not winning the "special military operation", that is clearly an invasion

How much Russians are willing to bleed

A defeat for Russia in Ukraine means the end of Russia as a civilization.
The wet dream fantasy of many of your globalists that wants to see a decolonization of Russia.

For their profits will come true.

They are clearly not winning
The Ukrainians haven't being able to crack the Russians in kherson despite with many western bleeding their old soviet era stock of militarily vehicles for Ukraine.

that is clearly an invasion

Russia was pushed and dragged into this position.

They had no choice.

They tried with the Minsk agreements but the Ukrainian polticans like poroshenko made hateful comments to those to living in Eastern Ukranie.

In a Video saying how those Eastern Slav Ukrainian Children will live in Bunkers and their families wont have jobs while Ukrainians will.

China's military planners and political leaders face a pivotal historical moment and decision. Do they maintain their focus on Taiwan and numerous other territorial disputes or turn their focus to Russia?

The combination of Russian corruption, lousy military performance in Ukraine and political instability might tempt the Chinese into turning their attention northward. Also, Xi Jinping and his cronies might use the war against Russia to distract the Chinese people from the country's economic woes.

Japan faced a similar situation in 1941 and opted for the Pacific War instead of invading the Soviet Union. Moreover, the Imperial Japanese Army fared poorly against the Soviets in border clashes.

Yeah, I don't think the Donbas has bordered "China" since the days of Genghis Khan.

If this speculation had origins within China, it would throw valuable light on their assessment of Russia's current military position. Otherwise, it is just the West having hopeful thoughts.

I have no doubt that China wants to reclaim Vladivistok for the same historic reasons that it wants to reclaim Taiwan, but I'm sure they will seize the opportunity only when they can see one clearly.

The people of Taiwan don't want to be part of China either. China would not regard that as relevant.

Biden was correct in sending 80 Billion and counting to Ukraine so these guys can continue their curuptness in Ukraine? Biden was correct to make the war continue indefinitely instead of having it over in weeks? Only people who say Biden is doing the correct thing are his hardcore supporters or the people who profit from the military complex.
