I think the old guy reckoned that China should open up and keep things going with the west. So if he is gone so are his ideas and influence. This really says that the period of detente is over. China has modernized its weaponry and its industry. This only leaves their main problem to be resolved which is high-grade chips which I assume Taiwan makes. According to Serpenza, it took five years of a concerted effort to make the tips for ballpoint pens They throw billions at a problem, and all of a sudden research companies pop out of nowhere and start absorbing the funds. I think America will be fighting a war on two fronts. So it might be conscription soon.

Considering you have the west/us currently with a mindset aimed such as decolonization of Russia and with that decolonization of Russia conference.

China wouldn't allow that to happen to Russia.

This is the former president of China, notice how NO ONE will look at him and the man who was trying to help him out was pulled to sit back down.

Xi stops the man from taking some papers with him and NO ONE will even look at or acknowledge what is happening

Fake news. There was a thread several weeks ago talking about how Xi was going to be removed from power any day now. They used the always reliable news media stories saying much of the same as their source. We all know that the media is never wrong, so clearly all of this is fake or from years ago. /sarc

Xi pulled the ultimate power move. He removed his only real potential rival - who was mostly a supporter of him - physically from an important party meeting. He did this in front of all of the power players in the ccp. His people were watching every single member present for any whom may object. He also is most likely having all of them monitored right now. It's probably the biggest power move that I could imagine.

Needless to say he now has consolidated power fully and put any potentially dissenters on extreme notice. Any dissent from this point forward will not be handled in such a gentle manner.

Very chilling for taiwan. He now has undisputed power and will need to have a military victory / show of force on the world stage to solidify his perception among the people. Taiwan is the natural next step.

Xi needs to get something major done with the use of the military. The only possible target would be Taiwan. It would cement him in the ccp history books by 'fully reuniting' China. It would also allow for China to be thought of as an actual world power on the big stage.
