Please look at the defense sector stock prices if there was a chance they weren't gonna get paid these prices wouldn't be going up across the board.

Hell in some circles people believe the war is being driven by the MIC, the EU/NATO has to send their stockpiles to Ukraine no doubt some older and outdated systems. Then all the member nations need new shiny weapons and the MIC will gladly restock their depleted supplies ASAP and will do so even if they have to lease them.

The EU gets restocked the MIC gets paid either in lease payments, tax deferments, or other options.

Once you have a gun/weapon you only need ammunition not another gun/weapon. Well the Ukrainians have been winning so they haven't lost their weaponry. I wonder if they have been selling the "goods" on the black market. You know, like a tin pot dictatorship lining their own pockets ready for the off.

Don't forget Lithium. Well a war over fuel in general. Certainly Japan is in danger to. They plan to make vast quantities of "pink" hydrogen with their new water-less? nuclear reactors. The EU was trying to make itself relevant by giving EU nations some of their money back as recompense for those nations sending aid to Ukraine, in order to be better defended against the belligerent affront that is Russia. It was a sort of "recharge" mechanism that is beloved of the bureaucrats the World over - "... you give me 10, and I'll return 5, but take all the credit for my generosity".

The individual EU nations now need to continue donating aid, just like all other non-EU nations have been doing, some more effectively than their EU compatriots who are always happy to defer difficult decisions to Eurocrats.

If Russia is able to win in Ukraine, then it'll be a scar on civilised norms. Which is why I think Russia won't win.

The Allies won ww2 yet we still had to maintain a massive war industry to replace weapons and equipment throughout the war.

The idea that you don't need to replace weapons in war is pretty ridiculous.

Also it's no so much Ukraine is winning as Russia is losing(or alread lost).
