Sad, but funny all the same...

Russian TV host Andrei Norkin's realisation that his country lacks freedom of speech:

If I back the decision to withdraw from Kherson, I'm going to jail for questioning Russia's territorial integrity

And if I oppose it, I'm going to jail for discrediting the armed forces

The US and France are the only countries that went through democratic revolutions. The US and maybe France are the only 2 countries that are fully democratic and have freedom of speech. No other country has freedom of speech.

Once again. You have me scratching my head. Where do you get your "facts" from? And someone gave you a star. LOL

Freedom of speech is granted unambiguous protection in international law by the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights which is binding on around 150 nations.

Just 2? Are you sure about that?

Freedom of speech is more common in republics such as the US, France, Italy. In countries that are not republics such as Canada, Australia, UK, Germany, Russia there is hardly any freedom of speech.

Sweden has 4 constitutional laws that supersede all others. Two of them are The Freedom of the Press Act (from 1949) and The Fundamental Law on Freedom of Expression (from 1991, eqvivalent to freedom of speech). But granted, it's relatively recently compared to the US.

I personally lived in UK in the early 90s. Back then UK was not a 1 party dictatorship like it is now.

Not as dramatic as the tweet suggests.

MILAN (Reuters) - Italy does not rule out new measures to provide further military support for Ukraine but these are not on table at the moment, its defence minister told Il Messaggero daily in an interview published on Thursday.

Guido Crosetto also said he would reiterate Italy’s commitment to NATO and its support for Kyiv in a meeting in Rome with the alliance’s chief Jens Stoltenberg later in the day.
