America backed the crazies in Ukraine. There was no one else this time.

You are not naive, all the key personnel are in a club, it's a bit like Hells Angels there is only one way out.

NATO is nothing like the Hells Angels through anonentity.

And to think so could indeed be considered to be rather "naïve".

NATO exists for a reason mate and part of that reason is to protect France from invasion.

There is no easy way out as long as the likes of the Russian threat remains.

Good point.

Then please explain why NATO existed after the fall of the USSR and especially during the "Russian Reset."

Methinks you cant have it both ways.

Did you see Russia get rid of all those nukes or 1000s of tanks/APC after the USSR fell down around their ears?

Thats why there is still a need for NATO.

Methinks you cant have it both ways.

I think you may find that they can and will have it whichever way that's required to defeat, or at least hold in check, the expansion of Russia.

Because the threat remained, russia still had thousands of nukes aimed at Europe & the US.

Oh there's an easy way out... just stop paying for USA's protection as Trump warned.

Again that's not how you enforce the North Atlantic Treaty which America is also a founding member.

The USA has obligations regarding NATO same as any other nation which comprises part of the organization.

Not something i imagine you or Trump could ever comprehend all the same in any sort of meaningful manner.

Something to ponder iamthevirus, do you imagine America could stand alone against a United Europe with Russia at the helm?

Then there is the distinct fact that a hell of a lot of people from the USA ancestors are of European decent.

Only easy way out is for Russia to calm the feck down, tuck their tail between their legs and go back home, that way cooler heads can prevail.

What was that? Come again you're breaking up...

The NATO that met in Madrid this past week to agree on a new strategy to defend the West has started to resemble the kind of organization Trump and his wing of the Republican Party said they always wanted.

NATO sure as # are not "breaking up" and have only been bolstered and alliances strengthened by the likes of Trumps statements and Putin's antics in Ukraine, so there is that.

Agreed, but the 'shakey' was before russia invaded Ukraine, not as a result of russia invading Ukraine, as was claimed.
