Imagine that, if you let the flow of immigrants come in unregulated municipalities have a hard time coping, South Texas communities as saying welcome to the party, pal. We got a mess coming down the pike, an influx of immigrants with an economic downturn, nuclear war closer than 1962. Lots happening and none of it seems remotely good.

Adams rattled off statistics to bolster his dire warnings:

– More than 61,000 people are now in city shelters, a near-record that officials say they will shortly exceed.

– Officials are renting rooms in more than 40 hotels across the city to try and keep up with the influx.

– Arriving families have enrolled 5,500 new students in New York City’s public schools, a jump from the previous tally of 3,200.

The mayor said he would visit the tent city his administration is building on Randall’s Island to provide temporary housing for the arrivals.

New York City Mayor Eric Adams declared a state of emergency Friday over the influx of migrants into the Big Apple and estimated it will cost $1 billion to provide them with shelter space and social services.

Hizzoner made the announcements in a speech at City Hall in which he declared that the influx of migrants from south of the border had stretched the city’s social-safety net to its breaking point and pushed its shelter population to an all-time high.

“We are in a crisis situation,” Adams said. “This is a humanitarian crisis that started with violence and instability in South America, and it’s being accelerated by American political dynamics.

“This crisis is not of our own making, but one that will affect everyone in this city now and in the months ahead.”

City officials have struggled for weeks to find space for the incoming thousands, most of whom are Venezuelans seeking asylum from that country’s brutal dictatorship and economic collapse.

There has been a growing crisis within our own borders of hoemless citisens for years now, and there's been no effort to create a tent city to house them. They do qualify for a few minor social services in some instances, but nothing near the white glove treatment border jumpers get.

The saddest part of the whole immigration issue is people are being led to believe they're all coming from S.America to escape pocerty and danger while border patrols' warnings of many being dangerous criminals and known terrorists from the ME.

It's also a given that every one of these immigrants will be bring diseases the US had conquored decades ago, while they've continued to mutate in third world countries. We're seeing that now in New York with the number of polio cases increasing weekly.

5,500 newly enrolled students which doesn't count those not enrolling which could be triple that number, you have to ask, when and where did they receive the standard immunization shots required to enroll, not just in NY State but most all states. It is a matter of record they're not receiving any...See more

That money would go a long way to help New Yorkers struggling with low wages, no jobs, high prices. Charity begins at home.

Do the math, it comes out to $1.6M per person
False number thrown out that they will siphon most of it for political purposes or paybacks

Whether you're an illegal invader or a natural born citizen the MORAL question still stands --- "What exactly is your fair share of what someone else has worked for?" - Thomas Sowell. “The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people's money.” ― Margaret Thatcher

But you won’t spend a dime on the citizens or residents that’s already struggling here. People are breaking their necks to afford to live here or maintain their businesses with no help from our sorry politicians. The "homeless" are so overwhelmingly drug addicts that statistically 100% of homeless are drug addicts. The director of 3 of the largest homeless shelters in LA says they see about 10,000 homeless per year and there may be 3 or 4 that are not there due to addiction.
The people coming across the border illegally are not "migrants,' rather they are illegal aliens and can be kept out, instead of encouraging them to come here.
Democrats want illegals to pour across the border because a) key Dems are most likely being bribed to keep the border open, b) their buddies, the cartels, are better able to smuggle drugs/children/women across to traffic, and c) they believe they can influence illegals to become citizens and vote Democrat, or d) vote illegally.

NY spends more than $50k per homeless person. The problem is the money doesn't get to them. It's skimmed by crooks like deBlasio's wife.

Soon sanctuary cities and open borders will be a thing of the past. and our southern border will get locked up tighter than the presidential records in some warehouse in Chicago.

Of course not long after it Drug cartels will no longer be drug cartels.

They'll be oil tycoons shipping black gold over the Rio Grande along with Beef,Pork, and chicken products because the locals have said no mas cricket flour being forced upon them by Swabber barons in Switzerland.

Looks like NYC is going down fast. I had no idea it was that bad. Maybe Putin will help them out of the jam they are in.

The drug cartels will be running the democrat party along with the drag queens and the transvestites, it will be hooker parties at the white house soon.

American will become the top number one on child sex trafficking.

But that is what people voted for, all 100b of them in the US.
