Today, California's Governor Newsom signed into law a bill from the California legislature that provides criminal penalties for any California healthcare provider who distributes COVID-19 pandemic or vaccine misinformation:

www.deseret.com...

This new law gives specific legal authorization to stop California health care providers from distributing demonstrably false information on these subjects. So from this time forward, California health care staff members will face legal penalties, for example, if they repeat the false claim that injecting bleach does anything to slow or stop this pandemic.

Yes, because everyone is saying to inject bleach. That's simply a way of sensationalizing anyone who disagrees with the narrative and attempting to label it all the same. It's not, and that's rediculous.

They are trying to say science is concensus based now, which is not true, it's evidence based. This is orwellian af. It's ok though, no one wants the sh# vaxx anymore.

Not everyone. President Trump was the most prominent individual I heard recommend it. To be fair, he actually used the word "disinfectant", of which bleach is one example.

However, in 2021, there were many self-styled "healers" in South American countries who made a business of administering intravenous injections of Chlorine Dioxide solution to cure Covid. Chlorine Dioxide is, in fact a type of bleach used in industrial processes.

I've never heard of any doctors saying to inject bleach, but it would not be a bad thing for them to lose their license if any are saying that.

The court lawsuits will be interesting when authorities try to prove beyond the sea that their info is actually right 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Seriously dude?
Why?

If this goes to trial for being unconstitutional, what if any graphs, tables, charts, diagrams etc beyond VAERS will be allowed in the discovery?

Bonus: when someone points out the CDC has signed off on docs that specify Covid only need be “suspected” in determining death.

Double-Bonus: where exactly did Covid originate again?

Triple: if someone notes we’ve lived alongside Covid for thousands of years, and this strain suggests it has GoF, is that considered “misinformation”?

Isn’t that the first line of pandemics, establishing a baseline withPatient Zero, their links in society they live in the society they lived in, and their routes of possible travel?

In other word I missed the part where we scientifically determined it’s origin finally.

Bueller?

So how will all this jive? DoubleThink in action methinks.

Things that make you go hmmmm…..

It reads like a bio weapon and doesn't even treat the gd g.o.f flu.

The All New 2022 Newly Reconfigured, Compact and Sporty "Disinformation Governance Board".

Couldn't get it done in D.C. so lickspittle California will do it anyway.

The golden state SERIOUSLY needs to be brought to heel.

WOW! I've never seen that before. The vaccine has to be one of the most risky medicines around.

No wonder the Pharma companies can't be sued!

No wonder Congress exempted themselves from having to get vaccinated!

Ever since the Newsom recall failed, the governor has gone crazy with signing extreme laws and rules.

Last week, he enabled the State of California to take Children from parents who won't let those children get a sex-change operation, if the children really want the operation.

With how any doctor that questions the narrative is losing their medical license, it is pretty clear how this legislation is going to be used. In these cases the questions and evidence the doctor has is not addressed.

It would be good to think that moving from the jurisdiction of a medical board to a court room will provide more oversight and analysis of just what exactly is misinformation. With all the money in the background driving this insanity, dealing with these conflicts of interest ain't going to be easy.

On the surface this legislation is going to be used to threaten and intimidate a lot of people. For anyone that decides to take it all the way and challenge it, be prepared for a long, drawn out legal challenge. You might win in the end, prepare for a few years to get there with a mountain of fact checkers to work through.

Depends on what is deemed misinformation.
I didn't know that there were doctors prescribing bleach for Covid-19 but I haven't heard anyone who did. If they did though that would have been unprofessional and a form of professional misconduct.

But the main issue here is what is misinformation?
And who decides on what misinformation is?

Because there could be doctors who may argue that Covid-19 is a very mild disease for most people with a very low IFR (Infection Fatality Rate) and there should be no panic and doom n gloom scenarios over the issue. An IFR of about 0.15% which means that out of 10,000 infections you get 15 deaths mainly in the elderly and clinically vulnerable.

pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov...

A doctor may argue that there is no need to get vaccinated if you are below the age of 50 and enjoying a good life and are healthy or that we don't have good evidence for the medium and long term effects of these products.

You see what this kind of law can do to common sense and science? Censor them further!

Absolutely!

Science was never based a consensus. It is based on evidence and facts.

What happens if you now move away from this consensus? You are likely to peddle 'misinformation'.

A consensus maybe based on politics rather then facts. A major issue I would say.

Me neither.
But we all know or suspect that these laws can be used only one way! To further silence criticism and censor free speech and several scientists who disagree with political and ideological narratives.

Newsom is garbage, and so is his approach to dealing with opposing ideas and COVID-19 in general. If he had ANY personal integrity, he would remove the state of emergency in California that is based on C-19. But he isn't, because he's more addicted to power than honesty and trust in California's citizenry.

He is nothing but a dictator who is happy to force silence on viewpoints with which he disagrees. If there is anything over these past nearly three years that has been taught to all of us is that the "official stance" on treatments and understanding of medical issues is ever-changing, and we should never attempt to punish someone for thinking outside of the box. I remember when people were getting in trouble on social media and getting roasted in the media for saying that the vaccines were ineffective at stopping infection and transmission, even though the official story was that it would protect you from contracting and spreading the disease. Now we know that to be accurate--if Newsom had his way back then with such a law, we could be looking at doctors dragged before the state medical board for sharing the reality that the vaccine was not the protection that the CDC and Biden were claiming in the media.

This type of legislation is about as un-American as it gets...the cliche "get a second opinion" exists for a reason.

No, Trump did not tell anyone to inject themselves with Bleach. Watch the video from start through 0:49 (which has probably been shared numerous times on this site) and listen to his words...he was talking to an expert and brainstorming an idea that he didn't know could work or not, and it was like you say, about a disinfectant that might be able to work at cleaning out the lungs. In fact, if you watch the entire video, he makes sure to emphasize that these are hypotheticals and that he's not a doctor.

I have been away from this site for a while, and to still see folks like you parroting this nonsense is a testament to how ridiculous some of you are on this topic and how much you can't let go of Trump. It truly is indicative of a mental problem.
