UN Said Kosovo's independence is legal,US sided With Spain on Spain's Catalonia independence

When it comes to the issue of separatists movements whatever its in Spain, Eastern Ukraine dont blame the Russians for it instated blame NATO/UN for the current blowback.

In 2010 The UN had ruled the following.

Kosovo's independence is legal
People had the right to self-determination & secession from Serbia due to the violation of civil & human rights. International law thus allows the proclamation of independence.

The same UN unfortunately has not ruled in favor of the separatist movements in Eastern Ukraine only because those people living in Eastern Ukraine are based of Russian/Ukrainian ethnic/speaking.

A certain population that speaks both Ukrainian and Russian. Traditional they see themselves more as Russian in their roots from decades past of their ties to their families that had came into Eastern Ukraine.
Currently the UN had no issues issuing Kosovo's independence as legal, despite Kosovo's people which were the KLA had being supported by NATO and NATO acted as air support for the majority of their war agaisnt Serbia.

They had being refusing to say the same for Spain's Catalonia.
Three years ago the U.S. State Department had being supporting the efforts by the Spanish authorities break block its effort to seek independence.

When it comes down to the issue of Kosovo.
Does Serbia deserve as well for its own borders to integral part to be kept United and Strong?


When it comes to the issue of Kosovo they dont want Serbia untied with their own province nor strong. As long as Elitists are there to keep Kosovo for their interests.

This is is never about real independence its about the Geo Political interests among other issues.

The reason why is because the serbians were killing off the albanians. They are recognized as a seperate country becaus etheir people with no pressure voted on it in a UN santioned election.

Correction the Albanians currently in Kosovo make up majority of its population.
Serbs and other ethnic minorities represent (4-7%).


Ethnic Albanians form the overall majority with 92.9 per cent. Most Albanians are Muslim.

It's not that simple, no doubt some of the people that would vote to stay in the Ukraine are dead or displaced now.

The solution to this crisis is to give to Russia what used to be theirs, not to the USSR, and give back to Ukraine what was always theirs as a district of the USSR, both parties wouldn't like that choice, which means it has an element of fairness to it.

None of the instances you stated are same same or hypocritical, they're completely different events individually, and most of all because they wasn't done under a foreign occupation which is kinda the whole point here?

Here is the thing, had Russia not have interfered militarily and sent in its troops and armed the small number of separatists, and these regions years after 2011 were still calling for a referendum to leave Ukraine then fair enough, but that wasn't the case, Russia immediately sent in its armed forces to cease these territory's right after maidan protests

With Catalonia/Spain its been DECADES of protests and calls for Independence which i agree they're being suppressed and ignored, and in all honestly The US & EU probably know its a problem for both parties and would probably like them to continue dialog rather than war or separation, that how you do it diplomatically and peacefully without mass bloodshed and deaths

Imagine if during the Catalonia protests for Independence a few years back, the French Military invaded and occupied Barcelona, and threatened to Nuke Spain lol and war ensues hundreds of thousands die and it could have all been adverted ? THATS THE POINT HERE YOU KEEP MISSING

As with Serbia/Kosovo well that is an even bigger shiytstorm thats is a lot of years of snowballing conflict WITH ZERO diplomacy to advert, it seems more like it was ignored before it was too late ... and is a far more complex and difficult situation to resolve that all above... Yugoslavia was a melting pot of many more cultural and ethnic groups at the point of no return where you just have to intervene to stop the genocides and separate the lot of them, it was far to late to fix Yugoslavia
