So the saying “Give an inch, take a mile” has been given added legitimacy over the last few years.

It’s all coming home to roost.

“MAPs” and Trannys in the schools.
Covid mandates.
Stupid and harmful green initiatives.
Political impunity.
Frozen bank accounts.
Firearm confiscation.

All a result of giving too many inches over the last few decades.

Yesterday the government of Alberta told Justin Trudeau and his Socialist Regime that the province has no more inches to spare.

Alberta’s Justice Minister announces plans to resist Ottawa’s firearms buyback program

Alberta’s Justice Minister has directed the RCMP not to enforce Ottawa’s firearms buyback program and has plans to join a series of lawsuits that challenge the constitutionality of banning certain guns.

“Alberta will not assist the federal government in this or any federal effort to strip lawfully obtained personal property from a resident,” Mr. Shandro told reporters. “This is not about keeping our community safe. It’s pure politics from the perspective of the federal government.”

I’m not sure that Alberta will be successful with their challenge but either way it looks like Justin may have thrown a party that many out west won’t show up for.

This move by Trudeau is more than just “gun control”, it’s the first phase of a socialist property grab.

Don’t care? Don’t have a gun?

How about a car, house, bank account?

Maybe those cheering this on should start caring. The things that they own are up next.

Any thoughts ATS?

I think that a lot of people, not just in Canada, have begun--or so it's to be hoped--to realize that we've given up enough "inches", maybe too many to those who only [sarc]want to take care of us[/sarc].

Only time will tell if that's the case. Good to hear though, even if it may be too late.

It seems that freedoms, in general, are slowly taken away and generational changes are exploited for this.

My parent’s experiences and what freedoms they enjoyed were reduced to the point that my generation doesn’t experience as many. This next generation has even less and over time the definition of “freedom” has changed and many aren’t even aware that what they are left with isn’t even close to being free.

Inch by inch, generation by generation.

There in lies the problem. Time.
WE (citizens in every country) have sat on our hands too long.
Globalist are in key positions,in almost all "Western" countries.
Loving your country and it's people is now classified as "extremist" behavior.
Time.
We are out of it.

The RCMP are federal, not sure how this works, I figure this is sadly just, grandstanding, I wish them well, and hope they can do it, or not do it, as it were.

Many areas and even provinces can opt out of using the RCMP for policing.

Alberta is looking at going with a provincial force.

But your right, they are federal. We’ll have to see.

We also have our Alberta Firearms Officer.

Overview
Alberta administers the federal Canadian Firearms Program to:
oversee firearms licences and registration
maintain provincial firearms safety training standards
assist and collaborate with law enforcement agencies to help enhance public safety
inform Albertans about firearms safety
advocate for law-abiding firearms owners

From June 2020

Officials said the provincial officer will replace a federally designated chief and will play a large role in the administration of the federal firearms policy to better reflect Albertans’ wants and needs.

And it looks like they are following through with more funding now that it’s up and running.

From this month

Justice Minister Tyler Shandro said the expansion will include a funding increase of $700,000 for the current year, growing to more than $7 million next year and $5.2 million the year after.

The money will go towards hiring 40 new positions for the chief firearms office, which will allow the office to process licence applications, transfers and other administrative tasks in-province.

I hope it works out!

The beauty of the human mind is it can change in a split second. These people underestimate that, given the right circumstances everyone they think is on their side can flip within a few thoughts.

If we could all see some of the things they really do...behind closed doors. Thats why its hidden.

Things change as fast as memory. This is what always happens in the end, the end of these power trips - they get whats coming to them. So its all good, all this just becomes evidence for their downfall.

Let them keep at it. Their end just "inches" closer.

Also i think everyone should start calling them "servants of the publics" or just "servant", im sure they'd love that.

Fast is the way to go and I hope it will.

And peaceful.

Not sure if you play chess but I think the powers that be have that feeling you get when you’ve set up a checkmate and you’re waiting for that one piece your opponent has to move to make it work.

I think it’s the people’s move and if we move the violence piece it’s all over.

Information and wisdom and of what you posted will win this. With violence we’re out of our league. Those days are gone.
