Kudos for showing awareness of the nuance.

To be fair, pretty much any major country has some faction of such. More so those in wartime situations. That's why I think it's problematic to focus solely on them as opposed to what the world view of the majority of people are.

Russia ain't innocent at all.

So let's pick sides as we watch Russians and Nazis slug it out.

Worked out well for the world the last time.

Let's do our best chamberlain impression.

That worked out so well for the world last time.

Chamberlain wanted to appease Nazis too.

More than fair, it's important to know. One of the problems with war is that once crazy becomes acceptable, then the crazies come out. So to speak. In this case, the crazies being the Nazis. But it's not like Nazis are the only problem people.

From a strategic angle, it makes sense that Zelensky (and Putin) would be happy to accept whatever help possible in time of war, and worry about the morality and ethics later. But it seems that Zelensky has completely embraced and promoted the Nazi philosophy as well as the Nazi manpower. I have not seen the same from Putin, but Putin has his own vices and faults to worry about. That's my biggest problem here.

I'm seeing a lot of excuses being made and apologists for actual NAZIS...WITH TANKS! Are people's memories that short?

Right? I'm beginning to feel bad for these poor Nazis... no one wants to respect or validate their self-identified Nazi identity.

Hopefully, giving them billions of dollars of advanced weaponry to go along with their swastika-emblazoned tanks...will help ease their low self-esteem.

From the horses mouth.

Edit: aside from "doing more", he does have some good points in parts of the call. It's an interesting watch for anyone with ten minutes to spare

As cynical as this sounds, screw picking sides -- just let them slug it out! This isn't our fight -- at least it shouldn't be our fight -- and we need to take care of our own business.

Nationalism is one of the most complex subjects on earth.

Having pride in one's people is absolutely necessary for a sense of community, progress, and legacy. It can be beneficial and celebrated.

Unfortunately it can and is often weaponized to exploit that of people so they can do harm to others. That's when it becomes dangerous, and we associate it with past atrocities.

We as Americans should know all too well. We had that very thing happen with Iraq. That doesn't make us Nazis, but it should open our eyes to the folly of human nature that we're just as susceptible to as any other people.

Well, the fight is happening one way or another. Our involvement is likely prolonging it and exacerbating it.

My point...exactly.
If Russians and Nazis want to kill each other...lets get out of their way.

Can't have a "world" war if the "world" ain't fighting...

We aren't the world's police force. We aren't their personal body guards. We aren't their babysitters or nannies or parents or anything else.

Our responsibility is to protect and defend ourselves. It is our privilege to be able to provide help and assistance where necessary and proper. Especially statesmanship and diplomacy.

That's not what's happening, nor what has been happening, and it's how we got ourselves here in the first place.

Very well said -- bravo!!!

Yes, we do fall victim to big egos but short memories. When/if we get too big for our britches and believe our own publicity, acting with good will and good faith isn't always enough. Particularly when others are not acting with good will and good faith. We are strong, but we are not impervious to the laws of nature, including human nature.

It's also escalating it.
This time there are 'Supes with Nukes' involved.

Sure we've heard it all before. History doesn't necessarily repeat, but it sure does rhyme. And I gotta say, I find it amusing that you use those pics to promote helping the Nazis in Ukraine. Quite the irony!

But to the issue at hand, we are talking about longstanding disputes between two nations -- just two. Not one nation invading and waging war in multiple nations with the express intention of world domination. Yes, Russia has been known for imperialist tendencies... as have Nazis.

As long as they are fighting each other, we have no business getting involved. When and if the hostilities expand and increase to other nations, especially our nation and our nation's best interests, then we act accordingly.

But we aren't there yet.

Putin's 'mighty' military can't even handle broke-ass Ukraine.
Is he really proving himself as big a threat to the world as Hitler and his military was in the 30's and 40's?

Let the Russians and the Nazis fight it out on their own.
$50b- $100b to Ukraine is more than enough.
