It still has to be accepted that under his leadership Russia has improved vastly for the common folk.

It depends on what measure you use.

Political repression is getting worse and corruption is still a serious problem in Russia - and not improving. Incomes have dropped compared to ten years ago - even before the foolish invasion of Ukraine. Life expectancy of the common Russian soldier seems less than it was, that's a fact.

Russia has certainly failed to keep up with the ex-Soviet states who removed themselves from Russian dependency and interference, like Poland, the Baltic States and so on. Large numbers of Russians continue to emigrate from Russia.

Like all good autocrats and nationalists, Putin has some of the best PR people around him.

Gawd I miss thatv4 years Trump was in office here in my Country, there's were no new wars or any of this status quo crap we are right back into. Covid was bothersome but that was all planned, looking back it becomes obvious.

The party difference are a little different (in fact quite the opposite in the UK as they are in the States correct...?

it worked until they all got corrupted and stopped free speech.

See that is exactly the opposite as it is in the States... it is the Left (Democrats) which limit free speech in the States.

You should be driving on the correct side of the road too imo... like everybody else, you live in Japan or something lol?

Scatterbrains, I'm detecting an engine misfire code PO300 (random multiple)... too many political parties over there for a population of 55 million.

An interesting idea.

We have plenty of evidence of what happened in Germany and Cambodia.

We have one man's version of events in this case.

Maybe some supporting evidence, eh?

Deny ignorance.

This great reset technocratic dystopia has the potential to be much worse than 1934 since the control mechanisms now are much more sophisticated.

Yes. If you'd have had a Jeremy Corbyn for instance (fortunately he proved unelectable...) You Yanks would be biting the carpet and frothing at the mouth.

That took less than two paragraphs, almost dropped my phone... don't vote for that guy.

Electing a Socialist would be like Germany winning the war and all out past interaction getting involved in European wars will have been fornaught.

Don't go there, nom nom nom.

Churchill tried that line of reasoning in the May 1945 general election:

"I declare it to you, from the bottom of my heart, that no Socialist Government conducting the entire life and industry of the country could afford the allow free of violently worded expressions of public discontent".

"They would have to fall back on some form of Gestapo - no doubt very humanely directed in the first instance. They would nip opinion in the bud."

Churchill got his political teeth handed to him in a cup and we got Clement Attlee and his merry band of socialists, the NHS and NATO.

The concept is antiquated but the deed is done, Russia isn't truly the enemy anymore, Reagan helped with the disillusion of the USSR.

Although Russia's current actions may serve to suggest otherwise.

Thanks to the Biden Communist Regime.

Americans generally do not like to get involved with European conflicts.
