I’m looking at a reliable low RPM 220-230V single phase 5Kw - 10Kw alternator. (Wind – water 2 wire connection with no fancy extras or electronics)

Obviously the best buy for the buck where durability is the main principle.

Plan on using 2 alternators and split my distribution board (DB) as needed where my light will always be a separate 12V circuit.

Thanx in advance

That is 12KW per 24 hour period or 0.5 KW per hour at maximum.

What happens if the river freezes or just idles past.

I dont know, no experience with those....i guess it depends on climate also, rivers may freeze only on top so if that thing is deep enough the water will still flow.
