California is now the first state in the union to offer both food stamps, and healthcare, on the taxpayers dime...

This week, Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) announced a budget deal with Democrat state legislators that includes providing food stamps, paid for by California’s taxpayers, to illegal aliens 55 and older — the first initiative of its kind in the United States.
Expansion of the state’s CalFresh food stamps program will cost California’s taxpayers more than $35 million and about 75,000 illegal aliens are expected to enroll every year.

This week, Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) announced a budget agreement with the sanctuary state’s Democrat-controlled legislature which includes offering health insurance, subsidized by California’s taxpayers, to all illegal aliens.

Offering taxpayer-funded health insurance to its entire illegal alien population, the largest in the nation, is expected to cost California’s taxpayers about $2.4 billion annually.

Californians tax dollars hard at work folks. I could swear one of our founding fathers had something to say along these lines. Oh yeah, it was Thomas Jefferson...
"To take from one, because it is thought that his own industry and that of his fathers has acquired too much, in order to spare to others, who, or whose fathers have not exercised equal industry and skill, is to violate arbitrarily the first principle of association, - the guarantee to every one of a free exercise of his industry, & the fruits acquired by it."

The redistribution of American wealth to those who are here illegally by the same group who brought them here illegally. Look for other blue states to institute the same measures. What could go wrong?

sure, why not. Perhaps give them all a nice house in the Hollywood Hills? But be sure to spit on the homeless vets on your way to the bank.

It's all downhill from here.

Look at how great Nancy Pelosi has been doing for her San Francisco constituents! Yet these people keep getting re-elected SMH

Dude, c'mon, really?

I used to live in the hollywood hills and everyone knows that you only spit on the homeless vets when you go downtown.

I feel for the taxpayers and homeless vets. Mostly for the homeless vets. Im so sick of vets getting the shaft. If you tallied up the money spent in Ukraine and for illegal immigrants you would probably have enough to end homelessness in the US.

Politicians just don’t give a fk anymore. Stop voting these thief’s in office!

Very succinctly phrased.

To call it a travesty would be to understate it.

I don't want my taxes going to an overinflated and corrupt military institution.

I guess we all have to pay for things we don't like with our taxes. Get used to it I guess.

I wouldn't exactly call the current cartel administration a military institution,
rest easy though at least China is paying a fair share along with Ukraine to Pops.

I think "cartel" or "cabal" is more appropriate, especially where
California is concerned, its pretty much an extension of Mexico now.

www.capradio.org...

Yeah, but when the states budget surpluss in 97 billion even after the massive dole ledger they can go on a supplimental social program and rebates-for-everyone spending spree and still cover the cost of the year's eventual massive wildfire claims.

How come the regular citizen can’t get state-funded healthcare but illegals can? Seems really messed up if you ask me. Illegals get free healthcare but citizens gotta go through the incredibly corrupt insurance system.

Covered California approves about everyone making less than $47,500 for a single person to $97,500 for a family of 4. Guess they lifted the restrictions for documentation too. This state gives and gives though social programs. You can get a free 5g smartphone in front of Albertsons for being "low income" at $96,000/year.

Healthcare is as simple as paying state taxes and accepting public health clinics and hospitals. You wait for 8 hours, get treated like a case number, but you don't have to pay. As they say, "Free healthcare is not necessarily good healthcare". But it's there.

The only restrictions to Covered California are:

Employees who are not eligible for coverage include those employees who work less than 20 hours per week, receive a Form 1099 or are seasonal or temporary employees.

California has been doing State Rights socialism thing for some years. Rates of uninsured in the state is right at 14%. And the illegals won't really break the states ledgers. That's a, "What do we do with all the extra money" thing.

States rights has a California with a minimum wage of $15.00 (up to 18.35) and free or heavily reduced healthcare for almost all individuals. We're pretty much a value added tax short of a nordic model already.

Covered, but this doesn't amount to squat unless you are under a very low threshold.

Even with that, the rates are set to a huge hike. The corrupt California Crime
family needs to return overpaid taxes to the people, or give tax cuts instead
of new "drug" sprees. I say "drug" because it really is like that, just a new
thrill of dictators new found communist bent.

Commiefornia is very fitting, they should change the name.

Poverty? That threshold is $35,600 (around $715/week). If you make less that that you can get reduced rent at around 35-45% market value. Instead of 1300-2100 for a 335 sq foot studio you pay 450-700. You just can't exceed the poverty threshold for reduced housing rates. Work, but not too hard if you want to keep cheap rent. There are more than a few particpating buildings too.

Add to that both free medical and food stamps and you can support yourself* in California working at a drive thru. If you want to work. If you'd rather do heroin, fentanyl, and meth then a tent by the freeway offramp it will be. You just have to use the system and stay clean here. Which is encouraged and helped by the state.

It's a misconception the help for the poor is restrictive. It's only restrictive if you don't want to try or are opposed to taking handouts.

Some people don't have it in them. Some people would rather work, and unfortunately the "traditional" method doesn't exploit the programs to their fullest and you miss out on assistance for your principles.

And thats just how this state is.

Also worth noting they rescind all low-income and medical assistance if you owe on your taxes.
