I vote we immediately red flag every politician and everyone who works for them- specifically their guards.

If you look at the top five cities for gun violence in the US, they're all heavily restricted in their firearm ownership.
If you remove those cities from the statistics, the US suddenly has fewer deaths per capita from firearms than almost any other nation.
The takeaway is, gun-free zones are a big magnet for violent crime.

Yes , Mental Health of People IN America who have Access to Legal and Illegal Firearms Should Be the Main Reason for such Legislation , but it is Not Even Mentioned in the Article . Hmmm... Last year, 14,000 people of color were killed by firearms.

Funny how 14,000 deaths did not get any legislation written, but 35 deaths do.

So in otherwords they struck a deal to stop talking about further gun control legislation and instead pretend to do something. Nothing in the deal is materially different from current gun control measures.

I guess the Democrats really needed any kinda win going into the 2022 elections that they were willing to just role over.

Fox news has been covering this.

There is not going to be a national red flag law. They are encouraging states to make their own red flag laws.

It has funding to put armed personnel in schools and to train teachers and students to react to attacks better.

While it is not mentioned in that article, there is funding for mental health issues. They are still working out what exactly that means.

No raising the age to 21. No magazine or scary guns ban.

As mentioned, under 21 background checks will be more strict.

Some are going to reee over this not going far enough.

Edit: This will eliminate gun free school zones.

No , it has Not , and May Never be if it is Not Passed by the House and Senate . It's just Another Political Theatre Piece to Unnerve the Public into Thinking they are Actually doing Something about what they Themselves Created Already , RED FLAG Laws and Gun Free Zones .

Tougher BGC for under 21 buyers, which they already have and did not stop a single massacre. Not sure what "tougher" means, perhaps they get the FBI to actually maintain their BGC system? At least they can still sign up for the military at 18 to be their dog and get choked by the government's leash, then surveilled after the fact and neglected by the VA.

And a crackdown on strawman purchases, which would not have stopped a single massacre. This has the added benefit of being practically enforceable.

So basically more useless infringements, which was a stated desire of some of these killers, and nothing to harden soft targets which is why these places get hit in the first place. Hope everyone at least had fun because none of this will save any lives.

It is ONLY being Proposed , but if American Political History is Any Barometer , they Will Attempt to Strip More Freedoms from American Citizens with a " Final Draft " of a Bill .

I hope the names of those ten republicans are released before November and more people start researching their candidates past history. Susan Collins is a prime example of people burying their heads in the sand.
