Trump pressured the NFL to fire players who knelt during the National Anthem. Colin Kaepernick was black balled. And, Desantis is punishing Disney and The Rays for "woke" speech.

I'm not going to be a hypocrite , so you are right .

This is another example of the NFL violating an " employees" freedom of speech , and they were taking direction from a political power in doing so .

and as for Ron Desantis pushing against Disney , well that is just a Power battle that is not an example of Government stamping a single citizens freedom of speech .

Disney has just as much political power , ideals and motive as the Government.

Mmm. Denying a memorial sticker to eight Texas officers killed in the line of duty but allowing “Hands up, Don’t shoot”parades out of the tunnel for pregame festivities.

My favorites are exemption from Anti Trust Laws and official congratulations for winning the Super Bowl, including some Lincoln Bedroom sleepovers.

But let me know when you get Congressional acknowledgment for top honors trolling or a Darwin Award.

Colin Kaepernick was black balled

Yeah , the NFL , and the stations that aired the games , were losing MAJOR money due to Colin and others' political activities on the field .
And the disrespect for the country they preferred to show .
But Colin never was that good of a player .

Desantis is punishing Disney and The Rays for "woke" speech.

Good for him .
Perhaps more will join in .
They have the right to freedom of speech as well .

Absolutely isn't right either, but the public will then decide to ban NFL games, so the $$$ wins in the end.

abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press

Wondered about this... Does this "freedom" grant the media a right to lie?

The NFL is one giant, walking, talking contradiction.

Nearly 2/3 of the league is comprised of people of color.

But nothing is said about this because it doesn't overturn the apple cart of the social justice crowd.

Rather than inquire on how this seems to raise interesting statistical and demographic questions, the social justice crowd went all in on their narrative:

NFL says each team must hire minority offensive coach amid push for diversity

Hmmm. So odd. There are 32 NFL teams. Each NFL team has, on its roster, at any given time, 4-6 players that play the corner back position. That's roughly 160 players from across the league. Not a single one of them is white.

So....when does the "push for diversity" start applying to the elephant in the room, in shoulder pads?

The First Amendment doesn't apply here, the NFL is a private company.

NFL get's billions in subsidies from taxpayers

Once you receive taxpayer funds, imo , you're no longer a 'private' company

Does that mean that if a private individual receives state funding that they're also no longer a private individual?

Not relevant.

Hints your hiding behind a technicality...

If you think the Constitution is a 'technicality' you should move to a place that doesn't have it and then write back to us.

This issue with the NFL, as well as other companies, are being used to push these agendas by enforcing violations of the Constitution through private means.

There is no free speech violation of the Constitution when the company is private. The end.

Don't like the NFL? Don't work there. Problem ****ing solved.

Ignore him. I'm doing it. I'm 100% behind the constitution obviously, and he twists your words.

There's nothing to twist with what you type, it's emotional and reactionary with no bearing on reality. You hate the First Amendment because you don't understand it.

Free speech is protected from government restriction, not from your employer's restrictions.

The 'NFL' is not an " Individual " , It is a Massive organization that brings in Billions in revenue and can easily alter the tone of political issues with a single commercial during the Super Bowl .

An organization like that, receiving Tax payer funds is no longer a " Private " organization .

I'm not saying the Constitution is a ' Technicality ' Augustus and you know I'm not , I'm saying acting like a massive organization like the NFL is a Private citizen just so you can say they are not trampling a Real Private citizens rights is a technicality .

I've told you this before and I'll say it again . Everybody lies but only a Fool lies to there self.

Corporate Personhood goes back to the founding, sad pandas who don't like the Constitution think the First Amendment applies to private businesses.

I don't give a crap what the NFL (or any other company) does to it's employees in regards what they say, that's their business and if the employees don't like it they can get a job elsewhere.
