So if thousands of people are surrounding a building bashing in windows , and door .. does it matter to the rioter’s intent if some doors were open or not . It’s not as if the crowd prior to their attack decided that the only way into the Capital was if some doors were open . That MAGA Qtard crowd were hell bent on getting inside one way or another.

Im not here to argue , but rather ring a bell of reality & logic . Have you seen the Infinity Wars Marvel movies ? If so you will recall an attack on Wakanda , but their 360 degree shield is up . Once the shield is being defeated in multiple small areas , Black Panther calls for a huge section of the shield to be dropped so they can control the flow of invaders on their terms .
This is not just a movie stunt , but rather a real world tactic taught to law enforcement & military personnel. Congress was in a joint session at the time , and the Capital police were tasked with protecting those members . It’s very hard to stop 75 separate breaches , but if some doors are open then the flanking attackers will naturally move to a point of least resistance… and that point now becomes a bottleneck that is easier to control.
I agree that the killing of an unarmed women is horrible, but had that crowd gotten into a full congress I can guarantee you that Congress members would have been beaten to death .

I have during a Manchester United vs Liverpool football match . After a Liverpool victory there were thousands of predominately normal 9-5 working people who tore things up … fires , two deaths , mass destruction to buildings & cars .
Point being is that mobs no matter how peaceful can turn ugly on a time .. Mob frenzy or Mob rule is very real .
I don’t like Biden at all , despise Pelosi & believe there was an amount above usual of voter fraud , but crashing the gates of Capital Hill over it is ignorance.
Had one Congress person been killed that day , you would be wiping your rear with a few of your Amendments today .

Your post is very succinct, and a great explanation. I was not aware of that process in these types of cases.

However you try though it will be refuted by the MAGA crowd. They believe the Patriots own videos and statements are false, they believe that 5 or 10 cops facing a crowd of hundreds happily let them in(although many law enforcement are MAGA too and a few may have been happy to do it). They believe that stun guns, knives, baseball bats, improvised sharpened items such as flag poles are not weapons so there was no armed invasion.

You can tell them the sky is blue and they just yell "lie!" And won't look at it.

In a thread where people are wanting to know why and what happen and question if there was government agitation in an investigation lead by the same people that have brought repeated false allegations over years now.

Videos from the day of the attack appear to show some officers escorting rioters inside the building. In one video, USCP officers can be seen opening barricades allowing the mob to enter the Capitol complex without resistance.

I really don’t know the results of the investigation and the fate of the number officers from the article.

I missed that, but I'll certainly take a look. I know one officer that committed suicide had ties to Roger Stone who has his own ties with the Oath Keepers. That made me wonder if he was one of those that let them in and after seeing what happened felt guilty and killed himself, or Stone had an Oath Keeper make sure he couldn't talk? No idea.

ETA: One was charged, but he was not in duty that day.

That is part of the question. Why weren’t they. And what Capitol police sop / regulation justifies the killing of unarmed Babbitt that didn’t assault the officers that were blocking her way and then told to stand down. With an armed reaction force on the way to escort the stood down officers instead of reinforcing present officers in the hall to clear the crowd.
