Billy swore. He was lost and had only a vague idea of the direction to Bull Run.

He had stopped on his way to Washington and only had a couple of hours.

A voice from behind. “Can I help you?”

There, a magnificently outfitted re-enactor.

Relieved, Billy said, “Yes, I’m trying to determine where 2d Wisconsin fought...”

His companion pointed. “Over that way, about 400 yards, by that fence. You’ll see the sign.”

Looking, Billy saw the fence.

Suddenly, the first few notes of Battle Cry of Freedom rang out.

Billy turned. “Hey thanks?” But he was alone.

Spooky!

I believe theatres of war are some of the best places for hauntings. So much death all in one place surely leaves a legacy of tormented souls.

I didn't know the song and just read that it became so popular that there were two versions, for both the Union and Confederate... learning something new every day!

I've read more than a few stories about haunted Civil War battlefields.

I must be a non-sensitive. I've been to battlefields, and they seem at peace to me.

Cheers
