One small problem. If the farmer doubles his price, he may not sell ANY potatoes. The people purchasing his potatoes might buy theirs from somebody else.

In my opinion the Biden Administration wants higher gasoline prices so that they can push for the shift to electric vehicles. That's why they've hit the US Oil Industry the way they have, so that it can't drive DOWN the price.

They don't take Biden's call, so it's been hard to get them to help. This is what people 'voted' for.

I think they just want Russia to not view the West as enemies, and stop invading their neighbors. Russia should stay Russia, and just lose their cold war mentality of the zero sum game.

A longer term solution to the oil prices will come in November "if" the Republicans sweep the midterms and take both the House and Senate. From then on every bill going to the President will have a provision returning US oil policies to the 2020 policies in effect before Biden got into office.

Biden will be stuck between a rock and a hard place in 2023 trying to keep up oil prices. I also see outlawing ESG in the future as well.

You threw a lot of words down for a very simplistic view point that everyone already knows...lol

Here is a post from me back in 2014

So in the last few months we saw oil drop below $90 a barrel. One of the biggest reasons is OPEC is trying to stop/bankrupt the Fracking industry that has created a new oil boom in America. Fracking needs barrel prices above $80 to be profitable, so OPEC is looking at driving that price much lower. The industry started to freak out at $80, so now we see $66 a barrel and I wonder what that means...hehe

Two other side effects to all this and that may also be a player is Russia needs about $100 plus a barrel for their economy, and Valenzuela needs somewhere between $115 to $200 per barrel. Valenzuela burned though about a 4 billion Chinese loan in a week due to this issue with lower oil prices, so it is going to be interesting with Russia and their sanctions and now no revenue from their oil along with Valenzuela spiraling out of control now.

One last note...it is excepted that the Canadian Dollar will drop to the low US 80 cents per dollar.

A number of countries rely on their oil production to support their social structure. That price in reality is about 100+ per barrel, and as oil drops below that it actually hurts them a good deal. Canada sells about 65% to 70% of US oil and back in like 2012 the Canadian dollar was worth more than the US dollar and today it is worth .79 scents so my 2014 prediction above was spot on.

Another thing about oil is that world oil production is a balancing act and it doesn't take very much to tip it one way or another. Fracking in the US wasn't some massive amount, but it still tipped the price to about 30 bucks a barrel on the low side very quickly.

Lastly, oil prices is only one aspect of gas prices. We had 100+ a barrel 10 years ago to then have fracking knock it to 38 by 2016 very quickly, so my point here is it doesn't take much to shift it in either direction and we will see oil most likely stabilize around 80 per barrel in the near future.

The west, at least the people or majority of us do NOT want to harm Russia or it's people, all we want is for Russia to live in peace with us and it's neighbours.

BUT there are a strong core of people in many nations that DO hate Russia, some with a passion, most of these are in former Soviet occupied states that were annexed after WW2 by the Soviet's and had puppet governments installed.

For those people the Soviet union is a very recent memory and one they do not want to ever be placed under again.

Then there are nations that had traditional war with Russia AND the Ukraine, nations that were raided by Cossacks for example and for some of those nation's they see the Russians and the Cossack's (mostly of Ukraine not Russia I know) in a similar light to how more southerly eastern nations see the Turk's, with suspicion and a long traditional hatred born of conflict and past crimes.

BUT here is the crux of that with the Exception of the US were Soviet Russia was ingrained through anti communist propaganda and ideology as THE enemy to be feared and fought during the cold war (not so much in western Europe though we did see Russia at that time as an oppressive and cruel state BUT hardly any of us though badly of the Russian people so remember that) anti Russian sentiment is mostly in central eastern European states, those that were invaded, had history of conflict with and were oppressed by Russia.

However remember Russia was not necessarily the bad guy at those times, many times the invasions, raid's and worse happened the other way around and it was Russia and it's villages that were attacked.

But also remember that Russia is not unique, every nation in Europe even those whom are close friends today was invaded by it's neighbours, Britain even though we are an Island is no exception though once we built a strong navy we were able to stop that, the last successful invasion that I know of was a Dutch invasion in 1688, it was not to conquer our country but over a matter of succession if I Recall, then there was a failed invasion by the French in 1797 when a Welsh Woman Thwarted the French invasion though that was only a small one of 1400 men.

But for many nations in that region the history is much more recent.

The age of Empire despite claims and name calling the US Calling it an empire has mostly past, Russia sadly however seems hell bent on restoring ITS empire BUT is it Russia or just one man and his cliques dream of becoming an emperor in all but name.

Every age it seems has it's Nero who will burn down HIS Rome to build his fantasy of a greater one, a dream that never succeeds.

The truth is the Russians though broadly brainwashed by there state media propaganda engine are Victims in this just as the Ukrainians are.

There ARE Neo Nazis in the Ukraine that is a fact, BANDERA was an utterly despicable man and he and his followers committed some truly appalling crimes during the WAR when they sided with the Germans BUT it is also a fact that today there are probably MORE Neo Nazi's in Russia.

The other sad truth is this, they are the same people Russians and Ukrainians, they have a slightly different language and history but Russia BEGAN in the Ukraine and is arguable a Colony OF the Ukraine, they have split before then got back together over the course of there history but that is mainly ancient history.

The world has been drawn into what is basically a family fight, ok so it's not a nice family fight with Kid's being raped and murdered and yes it is not propaganda by badly disciplined Russian soldiers and civilians regularly being murdered by them.

But remember the Ukraine has it's own rapists and murderers and if they were the once invading Russia we would see the same atrocity's because they are the SAME bloody people, different accents and regional dialect but the same, Russia and the Ukraine have not been democracy's for very long and in fact BOTH of them are arguably NOT democracy's as they both have had a history of democracy being overthrown or undermined by powerful interests, in the Ukraine a democratically elected leader was overthrown by a coup that Russia claimed was staged and backed by western powers, meanwhile in Russia Elections have been rigged and political opponents of the sitting government have been imprisoned (But only when they were a serous challenger and posed a real threat of taking power).

Should we really be getting involved in EITHER of these unstable country's or should we welcome a new Iron Curtain to keep them out?.

After all it is only really the Elite that gain from having them fall in line, the rest of us were doing perfectly fine without them.

During WW2 the Ukrainian Nationalists under Bandera targeted ethnic minority's inside the Ukraine including Polish whom had lived there forever since borders between the two country's had often been fluid in the past, the perpetrated horrific acts against them and butchered baby's and hung the children's body's on trees, do WE really want to help people that WORSHIP Bandera?.

justiceforpolishvictims.org... inian-nationalists/
justice4poland.com...

Remember whom we are giving weapons to, is this the right choice or in truth should we just NOT be involved?.

Now remember the Russians are NO better, they did the same exact things time and again mostly during Pogrom's.

I pray for peace between them, for the innocent victims killed by Russia AND for the innocent Russian conscripts that have been thrown into this war often without there mother's knowledge, for the family's on both sides as they spill there own family's blood.

But I believe that we can not FORCE peace upon them, only the Almighty can and it has to come from God or else one side or the other has to win, trying to fix it from outside is merely creating the danger of a far more unstable world and a much more dangerous future for everyone.

YES Sanctions are justified but is it right for us to intervene in ANY other way, I have my doubt's.

I think we need a NEW Iron Curtain to maintain the peace and let Russia stew in it's own, it's in the hands of the Russian people to retrieve there nation from there tyrants and if they don't want to then why should we, let them live with there choice.

But if they step one foot over into the territory of any NATO nation or for that matter Finland or Sweden even if Turkey's veto does block them from becoming members then we will be FORCED to take action, Russia will LOSE OUTRIGHT but we will suffer terribly simple as that, we could demolish there conventional forces in week's but they have gone FULL Weapons of MASS DESTRUCTION, so it's back to MAD as far as I am concerned, we need to prepare for a war I hope we never have to fight but if we do we need to win it FAST and that is to ensure the utter destruction of Russia.

But with there NERO in charge maybe that is exactly what he WANTS.

It may seem completely illogical, but the US is trying with carrots and sticks to convince the Arabs (and the whole of OPEC +) to produce more oil, while the Arabs (like the whole of OPEC +) are in no hurry to sell additional barrels.

Old news.

New news.

DUBAI/LONDON/RIYADH, June 2 (Reuters) - Saudi Arabia and other OPEC+ states agreed to bring forward oil production rises to offset Russian output losses to ease surging oil prices and inflation and smooth the way for an ice-breaking visit to Riyadh by U.S. President Joe Biden.

OPEC+ said it had agreed to boost output by 648,000 barrels per day (bpd) in July - or 0.7% of global demand - and a similar amount in August versus the initial plan to add 432,000 bpd a month over three months until September.

The move will be seen as a sign of willingness by Saudi Arabia and other OPEC Gulf nations to pump more after months of pressure from the West to address global energy shortages worsened by Western sanctions on Russia.
www.reuters.com...

They will honor that promise and raise production by 2%. Smoke and mirrors promise delivered.

Are we on the backside of peak oil? Do they know something they don’t want us to know? Are they having issues of finding easy oil?

When the ME starts running short, they are nothing. There are no other natural resources they can offer. They can kiss those Ferraris, servants, and huge skyscrapers goodbye.

America! Remember, Joe Biden tells the TRUTH and then he is shut-down by his bosses.

But before he is shut down, what he REVEALS is worth listening to, because it is the REAL want or motive of the Biden administration.

For instance, most Americans believe Joe Biden wants to lower gas prices, because they did not hear him state the truth before he was quickly shut-down and re-booted spouting false statements about how he plans to lower fuel prices.

REMEMBER, the Biden Administration does NOT want to lower fuel prices. Doing so will not FORCE US over to electric, solar, wind, etc..

PROOF: from May 23, 2022: ""Biden Praises Higher Fuel Prices for moving us through a "great transition.""

Source: nypost.com...

REMEMBER: The Biden Administration wants you to think he cares about high fuel prices and the associated high inflation caused (in part) by the escalating fuel prices.

REALITY: All measures taken to lower fuel prices are just "window dressing" that will have minimal impact....the measures are designed for fooling Americans who are too busy to figure out the truth...About 70% (imo).

You can drink the kool aid and believe what the right is saying. Or you can listen to what the oil executives are saying.

www.citizen.org...

While oil and gas executives and lobbyists have been appearing on Capitol Hill to direct blame at the Biden administration for the recent surge in oil prices, oil executives are more straightforward behind the scenes. In investor calls, numerous executives have emphasized that shareholder profits, rather than expanding domestic production is their top goal. Last week, the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas published a survey that revealed nearly 60 percent of executives from 132 oil and gas companies found that investor pressure to keep profits high is the main reason oil producers are restraining growth.
