I wouldn't be surprised if some Azov fanatics exposed themselves voluntarily to some weaponised virus befor surrendering.

Is there any sort of precedent to suggest that?
Is there any sort of supportive evidence at all to suggest that?

Or did you just imagine it out of nothing?

I don't think anyone expected this to go any differently. The fact these soldiers lasted so long against insurmountable odds will certainly make them a rallying point for the remaining Ukrainian soldiers.

I won't be surprised if Ukraine frames these soldiers as their 300 Spartans. If Russia goes ahead with mass executions, it will only serve to make these men into martyrs.

What?

In the 1st few weeks you were saying 10,000 dead Russians

I was calling it all out as Bull #### from the start and its nice to see so many other posters coming to the realization that is all bull ####

You guys are funny and nobody is buying what you are selling anymore

They did their intended job of keeping your forces tied up for months.

Were they held back by sitting in basements?

There were 2,5 thousand of them there, they were blocked by 1 thousand DPR fighters. Who was holding back?

You and I both know that the Russian forces assaulting the steel mill could have better served in the taking of Kyiv.

Of course, it's simple. Become the president of Russia and then you can decide what to do with the Russian troops))))

As I put in another thread, I think the whole Ukraine "invasion" theme was just a smoke screen for Putin to take all the Black sea coast. Now the last of the ,eerrr, eeerrr, "defenders" have surrendered I think peace talks will now begin with Putin trying to claim all the coastal areas as Russian. I actually don't think he even wanted to take all of Ukraine. Time will tell.

I counter that with, I think you would be a great leader of your people.

Don't take me the wrong way. I have no ill will toward you or your people. I am purely approaching this as a battlefield analysis. I wish we weren't on completely diametrically opposed teams again. Maybe we can get back to working on better relations between our nations again one day.

Let me start by setting the mood with this Reuters (read official western MSM) article from 2015:

Ultra-nationalist Ukrainian battalion gears up for more fighting

The far-right Azov battalion, whose symbol resembles a black swastika on a yellow background, is preparing to defend the port city of Mariupol in southeastern Ukraine against a widely expected attack by pro-Russian separatists.

the radical views of the commanders of a group affiliated to Ukraine’s national guard which works alongside the army, and the use of symbols echoing Nazi emblems have caused alarm in the West and Russia, and could return to haunt Kiev’s pro-Western leadership when fighting eventually ends.

The Azov battalion originated from Biletsky’s paramilitary national socialist group called “Patriot of Ukraine”, which propagated slogans of white supremacy, racial purity, the need for authoritarian power and a centralized national economy.

So we have fanatic Nazis with 7 years of time to prepare for the showdown at Azovstal... moving on to this admittedly speculative piece from about 5 weeks ago:

A SECRET NATO BIOWEAPON LABORATORY IN THE UNDERGROUND OF MARIUPOL?

I wouldn't exclude it and I sure hope the Russians approached this Azov surrender scenario with a better safe than sorry attitude.

So, no evidence of a 'Bio-weapon' factory just speculation.
As there was about other alleged 'Bio Weapon' facilities which are as of yet completely and utterly unfounded.

No evidence of Azov Battalion soldiers 'infecting' themselves.
No precedent of it occurring.

The US/NATO want to overextend Russia via Ukraine. Grab some popcorn and watch how Judo black belt Putin instead overextends "The West". The Joke is mostly on Europe though as our leaders now became obsessed with repeatedly and continually shooting ourselves in our collective European foot with sanctions. Hurts soooo good... NOT.

Or maybe it took months for the Russians to do their intended job.

If Putin is to be believed the Nazis were one of the main reasons for the invasion in the first place.

All British members of my "fan club" are waiting for instructions))))

I'm British so please don't think that we are all ignorant fools.

And not all British live in Britain.

Extra perspective is useful.

Thanks for providing my moment of levity for today.

So a mish-mosh gang of alleged nazis, hiding in a basement for like a month, that just surrendered to their enemy, is now analogous to a group of soldiers that fought, to the death, to the man, in blunting the tip of the spear of a holy war from Persia that very well could've have lead the conversion by sword of massive chunks of Europe to Islam.

Hoh-K-Then.

It's just enough with this.

To compare anyone involved in this LOCAL dispute, concerning neighboring countries, allegedly squabbling over a small patch of real estate sandwiched between them, to what went down at Thermopylae, is a bridge way too far.

This nonsense, or at least the West's obsession with it, and our funding of the Ukrainian side of it, and it's clear use as a distraction and scapegoat for everything from inflation to supply shortages, has gone on long enough.

It was predicted and intimated that some military flare up would (conveniently) occur straight away at the tail end of COVID-Mania and that's just exactly what happened, to distract eye and mind from the forced vaccinations and various other shenanigans that were pulled (and many profited from) between 2020 to now. The old distraction game of "LOOK! Two squirrels fighting!" is now grown very tedious and repetitive, and I think those that orchestrate such things might be surprised to find how long memories have grown in the digital age. In conjunction, attention spans have also grown shorter, and I sense even among the easily distracted, that Ukraina-Mania is waning, despite the media and politicians (and their diverse pawns on both political sides) efforts to keep the ruse rolling.

It's really quite amazing and concerning that those among the ranks of the traditional political group that resisted Vietnam, that resisted the invasion of Iraq, seem to be out in front of the bandwagon on this one. It's quite a statement on how topsy turvy and upside down that ClownWorld has become.

Putin is doing a great job of over extending Russia's shyte armed forces, all by himself. In case you hadn't noticed.

You would do better by asking why all the anti-war folks tend to vote for Democrats. Democrat presidents have gotten us into far more wars than the Republicans have. Democratic presidents were the first to send advisors to Vietnam, followed by the occupying forces. Bill Clinton was also the first American president to bomb Iraq and Afghanistan, likely causing 9/11 in my opinion.
