This has to be a troll.

No way can this be real.. then my daughters and I had to go to the comment section..

Blown away More..

"As an aeromodeler, I can guarantee the limiting factor here was the shape of the propeller. Most of the trailing edge was doing nothing to add thrust, it was literally adding drag".

Was a top comment...
and scrolling thru only found one comment out of dozens that knew..

The shaft speed.. the gear on the prop shaft..

Propeller speed .

And this guy making the video??

Never a thought?

Reminds me of that time when they told people to drill an earphone holes in their iPhones (since iPhones didn't have conventional earphone outlets).

Nice find mate.

I watch Fireball's videos fairly regularly, one of the few YouTube people I can tolerate.

His goal wasn't to make it as functional as possible, but to make it as close to the original design from Popular Mechanics as possible and propel it to 20 mph (the stated top speed). He succeeded in both goals.

It is spelt Dumb. Has a b on the end of the word.

I think for safety it needs a shroud.

As functional.as possible and the "design" are not congruent..

And the hilarity of the commenters.. clueless lot.. mostly..and the video dialogue..

I think you need to read what I wrote again.

I don't read YouTube comments.

It is spelt Dumb.

This is one of the things that makes me think the Universe really IS some kind of simulation (though I can't conform to that viewpoint).

It seems that in over 90% of the cases where someone tries to insult someone's intelligence, they ironically misspell a critical word somehow.

This was no exception - someone attempting to call people 'dumb', doesn't know how to spell this simple word, and thus proving.. well, I don't have to spell it out for ya.

I wonder why this is so common? I have bumped into this phenomenon so much, I can no longer classify it as 'coincidence' or 'accident', as the likelihood is microscopical at this point.
