Instead, the NSFK attempted to compensate for its wartime shortcomings through bombarding its members and affiliates with National Socialist dogma, from slogans and singsongs to magazines and lectures. An overall generalisation of the organisation’s success in politicising its members is arguably more difficult to establish than the achievements of its pre-military training.

The effectiveness with which its pre-military training was delivered could be inconsistent and, in many cases, was insufficient. Despite this, the NSFK’s instructors still provided a well-rounded foundation for its members that enabled many of them to enjoy fruitful careers in the Luftwaffe.

Dr Victoria Taylor's in-depth analysis of the Nationalsozialistisches Fliegerkorps (National Socialist Flyers Corps ) is among the best examination of German military aviation development in the interwar years. Her article also covers the war years, but by 1945 Nazi fanaticism couldn't win the war. Moreover, the specific nature of the subject precludes more than a curious examination of how Germany dealt with that subject during the Weimar Republic, but the foundations of the NSFK lie with the Deutscher Luftfahrtverband (DLV – German Aviation Association).

Notably, the NSFK was created as a special unit of the Hitler Youth. Also, they sought to expand the NSFK's membership beyond the SS and SA. Yet the SS hasn't overshadowed the SA at that time, so the organisation is tied to the birth of Nazi Germany. The aim was to provide a supply of pilots to the Luftwaffe, who were indoctrinated in the Nazi's horrific political ideology. Politically, post-war, the Luftwaffe embraced the clean German Army myth. So, there are additional layers of evidence to debunk that myth.

There was a lot of cleaning-up and pretending that went on in BOTH Germanies after the war. There was also a successful propaganda push by former members of the SS ("soldiers like any other" etc.)

Overall the Nazis had many auxiliary organizations that were armed. Many of them got caught up in the fighting of 1945.

Cheers
