We now know from information published in connection with the Special Counsel John Durham investigation, that Presidential candidate Hillary Clinton asked President Barack Obama to help her severely damage the Presidential candidacy of Donald J. Trump, in 2016.

As the 2016 election grew closer, President Obama abruptly told his Cyber/Intel agencies to "Stand Down" from combatting Russia cyber-attacks and propaganda.

Remember, this Obama order to let Russia interfere in our U.S. election, came after candidate Clinton launched her illegal "destroy Trump" project.

Did Obama find out Vladimir Putin was attempting to help Hillary win, and wanted to give him continued free reign to do so?

As the article states, the Senate Intelligence Committee heard quite a bit more from Obama Cyber Chief Michael Daniel in 2018. But it's classified to this day.

I think if asked directly Mr Putin would say "We spent millions of rubles on the election. But, Hillary still lost."

As I recall, weren't most of the Russian ads anti-Hillary? Some were anti-Trump, and Hillary's Russian disinformation was obviously anti-Trump.

It appears Putin was playing both sides, and it worked beautifully. The Democrats absolutely destroyed what was left of American unity, much to Putin's delight. They pushed his disinformation campaign for years, and still continue to cling to it.

The DNC material was leaked by Seth Rich, not hacked by the Russians.

You forgot Xi Jinping.
There is more disinformation coming from China than anywhere. They have bought many US politicians, in State and Federal government.
It's not just the democrats though. It is the RINOs as well.
There are actually very few people (career politicians) in government that took the job because they wanted to serve the American people.
I would say roughly 95% only care about serving themselves.

Explain to me what is the point of interfering in elections by spending money and effort if both candidates who can win suit you?

First of all, it's pretty widely known that Putin despises Clinton. On the other hand, Trump was tougher on Russia than Obama was or Clinton would've been.

Who won was beside the point. He wanted to cause animosity and discord, to weaken American unity, which weakens America abroad.

You have this knowledge as a result of your acquaintance with Trump's policies during his presidency.

Putin could not know in advance what kind of president Trump would be.

But can't a serious deterioration in the parameters of the economy in itself lead to an aggravation of the political struggle?

You could just Google "why Putin hates Clinton" and pick a source that you will believe. There are no shortage of articles on the subject.

Basically he thinks Obama and Clinton, Obama's SecState at the time, tried to topple his government. He's probably right.

It's not like this is a secret.

I think Special Counsel Bob Mueller indicted several of Putin's I.T. guys for failing their mission, didn't he?
