But can we just sit back and let Putin do what he wants, to whoever he wants and whenever he wants?
NO
Probably should have stopped him before this.
Like during his previous Ukrainian invasion in 2014.
Ya Think?!?!
I remember being really pissed off that Crimea wasn't protected.

Since the air space is restricted to civilian flights any flights in the zone are military / special clearance.

Key Takeaways

* Russian forces continued efforts to encircle Ukrainian positions in the Severodonetsk-Rubizhne-Lysychansk area but did not make any confirmed advances.
* Russian forces may be initiating a new advance towards Bakhmut after capturing Popasna in order to secure highway access north to Slovyansk.
* Russian forces are attempting to consolidate their positions in western Kherson Oblast to push into Mykolaiv Oblast.
* Pro-Russian Telegram sources reported Ukrainian forces may be conducting a counterattack 40km north of Izyum to cut off Russian units in this key town, though ISW cannot confirm these reports at this time.

It might have to do with Belarus. Once again they did "snap drills" but their units are heading to the border with Ukraine. Belarus is now repeating Russian lies about Poland getting ready to invade Belarus/Ukraine. The Belarus active duty military is only around 40k-50k so I am not sure why they want to poke NATO.
Ukrainian troops arrive in Germany for howitzer training
Around 60 Ukrainian soldiers have arrived in western Germany to begin training on the howitzer 2000 artillery system. The German government has pledged to send seven of the self-propelled weapons.

First US intel admission of Russian advances in Ukraine
May 12, 2022 @ 12:26
“The Russians aren’t winning and the Ukrainians aren’t winning and we’re in a bit of a stalemate here,” said Lt-Gen Scott Berrier, DIA chief at the Pentagon on Thursday. However, Scott Avril Haines, National Intelligence Director, speaking alongside him, maintained that the Russian forces’ advance in Donbass portends their complete control of East Ukraine. They are now massing units in Luhansk in an effort to capture Snake Island on the Black Sea and so attain full control of the northern stretch of that sea, according to Haines. This is the first time that US intelligence officials admit to Russian territorial gains in the Ukraine war and allow that their army’s performance shows improvement. www.debka.com...
