A Man Who Does Not Care

So...I went out today to the local Market and went to a Bakery that has a coffee counter; ordered coffee and a bagel...was sitting there chatting with one of the waitresses...a man stands behind me and is talking to the waitress about moving into his apartment building....then he looks at me and says this woman was a rape. Yes,,,at one time I was standing in front of a coffee shop waiting for a cab and I was brutally raped....he then pulled out a knife and was going to kill me...I cried out loud..."Jesus Help Me.." the man dropped the knife and let me go...well I've learned to live with that horrible experience'. however the man at the market today made fun of me getting raped; he acted as if he was glad it happened to me. He's a tall white dude who is bald, fat and I suspect a woman hater.

I will never enter that restaurant ever again; and I hope on his death bed he regrets today and the cruelty he gave to me.

@ OP, I'm sorry that he was such a jerk. It wasn't his business, and he certainly should not have brought it up.

I'm not sure I completely understand her post? Is she say the guy looked at her in line and told the waitress/predicted that this woman was raped? Or was she talking to the waitress and mentioned it and this guy interrupted her and began to make fun of the fact she was raped? It's very confusing. But I do sympathize with her abuse and agree in either case this guy was cruel and dumb ass.

I'm sorry that happened to you. Both events. It's horrendous and unconscionable and no one deserves that. YOU don't deserve that. And, unfortunately, for similar reasons, too many people will not -- perhaps cannot be -- be kind about it.

However, this may not be the best place for you to share this for that very reason. You will find the same here I'm afraid.

And I'll say something I've never said before, but it's still soon enough for you to delete your OP if you want to avoid that. Otherwise, prepare yourself.

I live 10 minutes from NYC, I haven't heard about anyone getting knifed at a dinner counter.

I for one am glad.
You got your coffee and bagel. They go together well. I too enjoy a coffee and bagel from time to time.

You may be schizophrenic though. It is only temporary, Probably enjoy the medical or recreational marijuana laws? Stop that and it will clear up in about 6-12 months.

I am sane, clean and sober, I take no drugs at all...as for the illness you mentioned I do not have it.

I was upset because a man made fun of the fact that I was raped....it was 38 years ago but I shall never forget.

I was waiting outside the restaurant for a cab. Today a man made fun of that rape that happened to me; yes it happened several years ago; today I am upset that so much hate spews forth from people about something awful that happened to me.

The problem I think some of us are having with this story is, It seems a little odd. You mention the event 38 years ago. You said it happened outside a coffee shop at first. This event happened just recently in a coffee shop. The recent event there were no crimes? Just a man in line with you said "This one was rape."

The other problem with this is, The man who said that. How would he know anything about you? Is it possible he said something like, "This one is great!" Do you remember what you were talking about with the waitress? I thought mental illness cause that is common they think some stranger says something personal about them, They would have no way of knowing.

Interesting, I could swear I remember the story you were talking to the waitress? You have this subtle way of writing that mixes up the users mind. I thought I remembered "This one was rape" Same difference though, Maybe you misheard him?
