I know the source is RT but i am sure it will be news in the next day and the next few weeks.
Russia's main gas pipeline to Europe had stopped their supplies.

Russia had covered 40% of European gas demand with the Yamal-Europe route. You have the gas prices already risen to the highest due to the sanctions with the main gas pipeline to Europe stops supplies been cut.

This could escalate with food pricing and other costs.

For Germany during the summer they are facing a energy crisis this could be problematic.

But INDIA is doing what it can to help Russia financially offset the effect of sanctions.

Modi likes Putin still: www.ft.com...

Biden is angry at India over this.

U.S. Natural Gas is "clean", compared to Russia's Natural Gas. Europe would rather get it from us, but Biden wants the U.S. to produce LESS Natural Gas, NOT more.

Source: thehill.com...

Producing more gas and oil would also help increase the number of good paying jobs and American standard-of-living. Both are things that Joe Biden really does not want to enable, regardless of what he mumbles into a microphone.

US gas is nearly 3 times the price of Russian gas. Europeans can't afford that.

No it won't. They won't need heat, and very very few have air conditioning, they don't really need it. They also have lots of wood for the few cold days ahead. A good fireplace can heat a great deal of the average German home.

Most people bike or use public transit or can use public transit. So thank goodness warm weather is coming. The Germans and most Europeans will get along just fine without Russia's energy supplies of oil and gas.

Oh dear god, really now...

"The EU wont need heat" Get out, you're drunk
"The EU rarely has air-conditioning" Get out, You're drunk
"The EU has lots of wood to burn" Get out, You're drunk, and what about your climate and saving the tree's?
"The EU is mostly public transport" Get out, You're drunk and a complete uninformed tool.
"The EU will be just fine with 40% less oil then usual" Get out, You're drunk

Nah the EU does not need heat. Not at home, not in the industry
The EU does not need oil for logistics, They will just transport goods on bicycles.

I could go on for another 500 words here but you SHOULD get the point by now.

BTW i live in the EU.

Why did you choose an article from 9 months ago, long before the Russian invasion began?

Here's one from 3 weeks ago:

"Biden said yesterday that Germany and the United States were working to bring in more gas supplies — including liquefied natural gas — some of which likely would come from the United States.
...

“We’re looking into making up for lost gas from Russia,” Biden said. “We think we can make up a significant portion of it...."

Please stop your dishonest bullcrap.

I can back you up, i am also from Europe. And I will add that some countries, especially Germany use gas to produce electricity.

I also hear USA will get very rich, especially on long run with this war.

Yup, they shut the gas off for Poland and Bulgaria. However Poland is linking up to Lithuania to get gas and Bulgaria just completed the pipeline going to Greece to replace what they lost.

Once again Putin shot himself in the foot. Sometime next week the EU will announce a full oil/gas embargo on Russia. Italy, a large customer of Russia's has already replaced Russian gas/oil with other countries. Also next week Finland and Sweden will announce they are joining NATO.

Yeah, 2 months later and we're still shaking in our collective boots about russia's economic threats, but the constant threats in your 2 threads a day sure are entertaining.

yeah it is.. Germany and Italy were the holdouts. When they secured other sources they backed the embargo. It starts next week. Germany's energy was composed of 35% russian gas(broad term). They immediately reduced use to 12%. They signed an agreement with Poland. Poland is now linked into Lithuania to bypass the Russian cut off. Germany now has access to Gdanak, which has LNG infrastructure. The Baltic nations upgraded their ports several years ago for LNG.

Bulgaria is now linked into Greece via there brand new pipeline. Greece has also given Bulgaria access to some ports that also have LNG infrastructure.

Russia has already been replaced so say goodbye to their billion dollars a day in energy exports. Since Russia has already lied to their soldiers and is not paying them extra for combat duty, Putin has shot himself in the foot... If he were smart he would aim more for head level.

* - Poland, Lithuania speed up gas link amid Russia supply worries

VILNIUS/WARSAW, Feb 28 (Reuters) - A natural gas pipeline called GIPL linking Poland and Lithuania will open on May 1, earlier than the scheduled mid-2022 start, linking the Polish grid with a route to a liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminal in Lithuania.

The earlier start was announced after Russia's invasion of Ukraine on Thursday gave rise to worries that Russian gas supplies to Europe could be cut.

Poland and Lithuania had been an discussing early start to the project for weeks amid the fears of energy supply disruption, senior government sources told Reuters.

"During the geopolitical tensions, linking the Baltic and Finnish gas markets with the European gas market guarantees energy security and independence for the entire region," Lithuanian Energy minister Dainius Kreivys said in a statement.

* - Germany says it's ready to stop buying Russian oil, paving the way for the EU to impose a full embargo

German officials said the nation is now prepared to stop buying Russian oil, the Wall Street Journal reported, opening the door for the European Union to impose a fresh set of sanctions on Moscow.

In a Wednesday meeting, German representatives said they would pull back their prior objections to a full Russian oil embargo, as long as Berlin would have time to find alternatives to Russian supplies.

The pivot from Germany follows a new deal with Poland that will allow it to import oil from other global suppliers through Gdansk, a Polish port in the Baltic Sea, government officials announced Wednesday.

The infrastructure of this port allows for a direct replacement of Russian supplies as it connects to the PCK oil refinery in Schwedt, Germany, they said. Enabling alternative oil imports to reach Schwedt was a key piece to Germany lifting its opposition to an embargo.

Germany has already slashed its intake from Russia, which now accounts for 12% of Germany's oil consumption, down from 35% before Vladimir Putin launched his war on Ukraine, Germany Economic Minister Robert Habeck had said this week.

* - New gas pipeline boosts Europe’s bid to ease Russian supply

Mountainous and remote, the Greek-Bulgaria border once formed the southern corner of the Iron Curtain. Today, it’s where the European Union is redrawing the region’s energy map to ease its heavy reliance on Russian natural gas.

A new pipeline – built during the Covid-19 pandemic, tested and due to start commercial operation in June – will ensure that large volumes of gas will flow between the two countries in both directions to generate electricity, fuel industry and heat homes.

The energy link takes on greater importance following Moscow’s decision this week to cut off natural gas supplies to Poland and Bulgaria over a demand for ruble payments stemming from Western sanctions over the war of Ukraine.

The 180-kilometer (110-mile) project is the first of several planned gas interconnectors that will allow eastern European Union members and countries hoping to join the 27-nation bloc access to the global gas market.

In the short term, it’s Bulgaria’s backup.

The pipeline connection will give the country access to ports in neighboring Greece that are importing liquefied natural gas, or LNG, and also will bring gas from Azerbaijan through a new pipeline system that ends in Italy.
