Yep... the biggest problem when heading into ANY debate these days is that people are so tired and exhausted that they are prone to subjecting themselves to cognitive bias and disonans...

Instead we should simply understand and accept that "mom" and "dad" are not telling us the whole picture and that they are filtering to suit their own agenda.

Objectivity requires you to accept that even ones own "heroes are prone to bad behaviour.

Or even better... there are no "heroes", just people trying to place the balance in their personal favour.
