Whelp, Just got off work (Rogers Cable)...

Just before I got off work, there was an email sent out that RT is no longer being broadcast for the forseeable future.

Right on cue with the censorship!

I don't like censorship but predictable in a time of war.

Their news is propaganda aimed at us and our news is propaganda aimed at them.

Totally not to be believed right now.

Telling the truth is giving the enemy information.

Umm I take it you've never actually watched AJ English?

Damn fine news and documentary tv station, hell its where I tend to get alot of my news from if the TV's on. Hell i find it one of the last true proper journalism stations, pretty much nothing but news reporting minus opinion.

Dont have to like Qatar, but AJ is definitely a big thumbs up for them.

yes... and?

Again have you actually watched AJ English. You guys lament the lose of real news media... AJ English is literally the last traces of proper journalism. But hey its funded by some middle eastern guys with towels on their heads so boo hiss i guess.

Ive been watching AJ English from day one, and they are pretty much the only news channel id trust 100%... and they have some of the best documentaries and history mini series ive ever seen.

News from other nations is biased and strewn with propaganda just like ours is, however, it can provide repressed or censored information not available on our end and opposing propaganda can nullify or cancel out our own propaganda and act as a filter to leave behind some crumbs of real information.

DW News from Germany, AJ News from the Middle East, RT from Russia and a couple from Asia are good comparisons with our news services in the US and west in general. Then you have other sources from Europe like Finland Today that I look at occasionally and although I haven't done it yet, I should have a list of English speaking news sources from every major country on the globe.

When you compare everyone's news, what they say and don't say, it gives you a broader view of the propaganda being used and allows to get a peek outside of our box enough to see what other boxes are out there that they want everyone else inside of. You can then examine what is left, that elsewhere outside of all the agendas and propaganda, it's wide open and as big as the universe.

It has nothing to do with censorship. It's the fact that RT is state-owned by Russia. Therefore, any ad revenue RT makes can go towards funding the invasion of Ukraine.

Cutting off Russia's economy from the rest of the world doesn't work if you still leave foreign revenue streams open.

If the objective is "cutt of Russia's economy from the rest of the world", then .... why is their energy sector left untouched?

Half of Russia's exports are from the energy sector, making up a significant % of GDP.

How much of Russia's GDP comes from ad revenue...from RT.....on foreign broadcast networks?

Does what you're saying jive with what is actually happening?

Yessir, censorship is the hallmark of liars and fraudsters. Some folks in government go to great lengths to hide the truth.

Maybe everything has been so quiet over the past 24 hours, because none of the news outlets are reporting real-time.

NBC said the Ukraine officials told them (all news media) to stop showing video of the horizon from their hotel balconies.

Tells the enemy how successful/unsuccessful their invasion is going. ie. "Looks like you missed the radio tower, Igor. Hit it again!"
