Because I've been saying for several days that they would content themselves this time round with a compromise conceding them the eastern provinces.
They wanted to prove me wrong.

Did they leave some thing in Chernobyl and they just found it?
they thought it was destroid.
if they pull out in the nest 12 days that will be yes.

How about his Airborne forces got their heads handed to them and he's scrambling to pick up the pieces? There's been reports of Russian forces having supply issues and by the way one of their airbases is missing.

Like Mike Tyson once said "Everybody has a plan until they get punched in the mouth."

Well, who knows the planning that Russia have put in, but the leadership seemed to be suffering from groupthink that Ukraine was ripe for conquest.

Plus, to trade quotes, “no plan survives contact with the enemy” (was it Rommel or Moltke?)

Russian forces have demonstrated that they are a paper tiger. Their only hope of success is to flatten everything, which is what they appear to be doing.

Russia spreading misery for the last 100 years.

Was full scale always the plan or why the change from unconventional and proxy warfare like what we saw in 2014. I've also been reading that all what we've been seeing is more of a special forces operation is there in truth to that and if so what is the goal for such special forces?

They been supporting a rather large scale event these last 8 or so years with the separatists that has been failing so far, so maybe this is their next move because of that. Also, Ukraine did not want to accept the offer of what Russia was willing to pay to ship energy through their country to EU, so taking Ukraine means you pay nothing now and don't need to pipeline anymore, plus add in all the resources that are now or soon to be Russian.

Big win win for Russia until the world shut them down.
