Russian President Vladimir Putin on Tuesday claimed, without evidence, that "genocide" is occurring in the eastern Donbas region of Ukraine, where Kremlin-backed rebels have been fighting a war with Ukrainian forces since 2014.

"In our view what is now happening in Donbas is genocide," Putin said during a joint press conference in Moscow with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, per BBC News. Similarly, Putin in December said the conflict in the Donbas "looks like genocide."

Anyone in Europe getting this same news? I don't know what to believe anymore. Our news is saying all kinds of conflicing information.

I will say something scary. This morning I got an alert that my SS# was on the dark web. Based on the info my service provided it was infomation obtained from 2002-2005. I have been in IT and am exceptionally careful with my information. I know there is nothing that is not able to be broken into. If "they" want it, they can get it. That being said, the only place I can think this was obtained was my former employers records. If you don't have your credit tightened up or frozen you might want to do it now. They have already said there is going to be a cyber war going on.

The Duma in Russia is suppose to take up and pass a bill recognizing Luhansk and Donetsk. The genocide angle is the "false flag" that was talked about in that Russia would fabricate an incident to justify invasion.

Based upon what I've been reading, civilian casualties have been very high in the Donbas region as Ukranian forces have repeatedly shelled the break away citiies.
en.wikipedia.org...

Since April 2014 Donetsk and its surrounding areas have been one of the major sites of fighting in the ongoing Donbas War, as pro-Russian separatist forces battle against Ukrainian military forces for control of the city and surrounding areas. Throughout the war, the city of Donetsk has been administered by the pro-Russian separatist forces as the center of the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR), with outlying territories of the Donetsk region divided between the two sides.[7] Donetsk International Airport became the epicenter of the war with almost a year-long battle leading to massive casualties among civilians and a total ruination of the northwestern neighborhoods of the city

Heavy shelling by the Ukrainian Army and paramilitary units have caused civilian fatalities in Donetsk.[32][33] Human Rights Watch has called on both warring factions to cease using the unguided BM-21 Grad missiles in populated areas, and has said the use of these weapons systems was a violation of international humanitarian laws and could constitute a war crime. It also called on the insurgents to avoid their deployment in densely populated areas.[

A conflict in Donbass will put the Kremlin in dilemma. If Russia intervenes in Donbass to keep at bay the rampaging radical Ukrainian nationalist forces, Washington will certainly use it as alibi to impose harsh sanctions to isolate Russia and severely damage Moscow’s ties with European countries.

On the contrary, Russia will have no option but to intervene, as hundreds of thousands of Russian passport holders live in Donbass. (Some put the figure around 700,000.) The radical neo-Nazi Ukrainian nationalists are known to be notoriously anti-Russian and all sorts of atrocities — even genocide — may take place.

US war hysteria over Ukraine won’t gel

Remember Mariupol? Nah. We're the good guys after all, aint that right?

Ukraine's parliament basically banned the official use of Russian language along with Russian culture in Ukraine no doubt be Nazi in every way.

You never hear that in the rest of Europe. All we hear is Putin bad Nazis good

The whole Ukraine affair has been a crazy NATO / EU/ West plot to take Ukraine into its influence and everything that gos with this

Just remember many in Ukraine, not just Ruskie speakers but others too actually want to be allied to Russia, they are the same people afterall. But the media promotes Ukranian independence just as it did Bosnian then Kosovan independence. IUf it means getting one over Moscow they'll back anything and in this case it's the Ukranian Nazi party!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Europe needs gas. Russia has gas.

USA can go f..k itself.

when push comes to shove, Europe won't give a damn what the poop-spraying ice cream-licking demented POTUS or his puppeteers want. NATO is more than just USA.

Is this not expected?

Putins casus belli will most likely be eastern Ukraine declaring independance. There is no Russian invasion, its a "peace keeping mission". For Ukraine its a damned if you do, damned if you dont scenario.

They are talking about the neo nazi regiment that the Ukrainian government has there committing war crimes and doing some ethnic cleansing. Asov or azov, something like that. It's been known about for a long time and no one seems to care.

Yea the Azov battalions , as long as the Ukrainians keep these guys employed they don't deserve to be in neither the European Union or in NATO.

If in this day and age you still hang on to that kind of ideology you are not right in the head to be honest.

Putin claims a lot of things. Take them with a huge grain of salt. He was in the KGB and exercises in disinformation were his bread and butter.

Cheers

and has been debunked.. As for ethnic cleansing IO see you are buying the propaganda out of the Kremlin. Russia has never care about ethnic cleansing and we saw this during the mess in Yugoslavia, where Russia and China did all they could to allow the ethnic cleansing.

Remember? the Western/NATO countries had started a training missions with militants loyal to the Kiev government a few years back.
Most of them are far right nazis/nationalists.

dont be surprised if something happens.

It’s like the most obvious Russian propaganda yet people question it because must in the west don’t trust the media

That’s all it is

Regardless of what happened before, Russia invaded Ukraine in 2014, installed Russian friendly leaders in Crimea and eastern Ukraine, held a referendum while under occupation down the barrel of a gun

If Ukraine is or isn’t shelling the DNR & LNR it wouldn’t be genocide it would be counter terrorism

Besides they’re a handful of pro Russian villagers, the rest left, the new residents are Russian troops, Chechen fighters and other shady groups including Syrian mercenaries

There are more than these two articles.

Canadian Media Is Happy To Risk Arming Neo-Nazis In Ukraine

Canadian officials who met with Ukrainian unit linked to neo-Nazis feared exposure by news media: documents

The Canadians met with and were briefed by leaders from the Azov Battalion in June 2018. The officers and diplomats did not object to the meeting and instead allowed themselves to be photographed with battalion officials despite previous warnings that the unit saw itself as pro-Nazi. The Azov Battalion then used those photos for its online propaganda, pointing out the Canadian delegation expressed “hopes for further fruitful co-operation.”

You deny that Canadian, American officials were meeting/seeing neo nazis? just like how there are no such thing as jihadist rebel groups in Syria right? now you have American officials and media claiming anyone who claims that America had send arms or supported the groups as a CT by Russia.

There it is the proof of mass psychosis

Russia invaded Ukraine in 2014

You mean they gained independence through a referendum that western/NATO friendly leaders never accepted it?

held a referendum while under occupation down the barrel of a gun

There are many who live there that might disagree with you on that.

installed Russian friendly leaders in Crimea and eastern Ukraine

Isnt that what NATO just did in Macedonia? there had being reports of opposition who were agaisnt NATO membership were being house arrest if they didn't agree to the deal and name change of Macedonia.

Majority of people were agaisnt joining NATO. But no polticans seemed to listen or care what the people think or had to say.

installed Russian friendly leaders in Crimea

You dont know the history of Crimea. Many there dont trust the Kiev government.

EU/NATO pushed an Albanian speaker into the Macedonian parliament. EU/NATO supported this ethnic Albanian as speaker.
EU and Nato plead for calm in Macedonia after protest at parliament

Albanians make up about a quarter of the population of Macedonia and are seeking greater official use of Albanian as well as a fairer distribution of national resources to the regions.
