Are they trying to send the Russians the message that they will carpet Russia?

we have weapons that are stand off weapons with a very long reach and have their own EW defenses

a 1000lb HE warhead can easily be released with a lighter nuclear warhead.

with the amount of cruise missiles they can hang off the wing would be enough to flatten most forward forces and than the amount of missiles in the bomb bay will make up for any of them that get intercepted

now imagine a whole wing of B52's just releasing everything they had in waves, some of them would be intercepted but those sites will be hit with anti radiation missiles

one fully loaded b52 with nuclear armed advanced cruise missiles or even hypersonic weapons would seem like the end of the world, i cant imagine what 20 of them plus a wing of F35's and F22's as well as missile destroyers and submarines could launch the end of the world.

The last several years they’ve sent bombers to Fairford in February or March and again in June or July. They fly with various European allied aircraft, allowing them to train with aircraft they don’t normally train with, and work with different US personnel, and train their own personnel.

Got to find a way to spend public money on the war machine now Afghanistan is over.

Dont know what they are trying to prove sending sitting ducks over there.

what country are you talking about?

China? NorKor? the UK? Canada? Russia? Germany? Finland?

or do you think the US is the only one spending their nations gold on military development?

why do you think the Ukraine still hasn't been invaded?

because sleepy Joe asked him not to? please....its the US's and NATO's deterrent forces

It hasn't been invaded because there was never a plan to invade it.

right just surround them with masses of troops, MLRS for days, tanks, surface to surface missiles(that can be nuclear if so desired) S-300 and now S-400's and all the air power they have in the area and regular artillery

all right on the boarder

the reason he hasn't gone in is because they already hold the port and that is all they are really interested in and the Nord2 pipeline.

as more and more EU members say they will not have any part in repelling a Russian attack the more and more Putin is moving more weapons and men into position.

the people in the state department don't agree with you as they have pulled out most US citizens and most of their workers

the second that Putin thinks that he can pull of a easy take over, he will do it.

why would Russia be massing 100,000's of troops and all that if he didn't plan on doing something?

unless sleepy Joe told him that we would go full out to protect the Ukraine Russia will take it by force or by vote.

i know its scary to think that the Ukraine could touch off a regional war that could go nuclear as a real possibility but the cards are on the table and only the person who is a better bluffer will win at this point.

and i hate to say it Joe Biden is a joke compaired to Putin, an ex KGB member who is sharp as a tac and has shown over and over he will use weapons(like novichok agents and even polonium) to kill people on western soil and all sleepy joe can do is spin yarns about how he is going to put an end to covid.

Putin can wait out sleepy Joe and wait until someone who is not demented is in office to make them an offer both sides can live with.

we are one bombing away from a bloody regional war, imagine we use a drone to take out separatists and it turns out to be a Russian advisor group. what do you think would happen?

"Happy Valentine’s Day!” – Joe Biden to Reporters Shouting Questions About Russia-Ukraine Tensions

Joe opens up his face diaper to answer reporters' questions about Russia-Ukraine...
'Happy Valentine's Day!' --Joe Biden

Joe and Nurse Jill returned to the White House on Monday after a weekend vacation at Camp David.

Biden took off for another vacation as the State Department urged Americans to evacuate Ukraine.

Reporters shouted questions about the reported ‘standoff’ between Ukraine and Russia as Joe and Jill made their way across the lawn.

“Is the risk of a Russian invasion higher than ever?” one reporter shouted.

“Happy Valentine’s Day!” Biden replied.

Pathetic.

Almost all of the activity around the area are aircraft that are normally around the area. With the exception of the B-52s, which are a routine deployment.

I'm still able to see live video of our critical tankers on the ground, and not being prepared for use.

We can't fly fully loaded transports or bombers without these tankers, and they aren't flying, or even being prepared for flight.

I guess it's possible that they are hiding a few extra European flights but without these tankers, it just isn't possible for the massive buildup rumors to be true.

I suppose it's just our everyday, routine intelligence collecting... nothing to worry about, it's Valentine's Day!

Funny, they do the same data collecting in the states too.

Gotta keep tabs on the enemy!

or use the UK's

if you can watch them so can the Russians

they aren't going to tip their hand by allowing live streams of our tankers

Russians have known what to watch for decades, I'm not giving away any secrets.

We fly them from the U.S. because they are far more difficult to detect or destroy than when coming from Europe.

We don't have any spares (have a shortage) so nearly the entire fleet is required for any kind of activity similar to some of the recent rumors.

Does this mean you are calling Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky a liar then or maybe you are more knowledgeable on the plans of Russia then he is?

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on Monday said that he has been informed that Russia will attack on Wednesday.

right but the only thing that would need tankers is fighter escorts for bombers and MAYBE the bomber them self, they could land in Ireland and gas up as well

i guess it all depends what way you are going around the world towards Guam or towards the UK

you could have 6 tankers in the air in a race track half way there and when one tanker is out they leave and land and gas up and head back same with the rest of them

i would say if B2's start taking off that would be personally very scary. they could get all the way there and half way back and use the tankers closer to home.

any major mobilization of tankers or fighters would be a pretty good sign we are going to war

I've always wondered what the 'go to war' button does on a B2

if anything we would move our forces' in small chunks and use our allies to fill the holes until we were able to do it all our self.

Fully loaded bombers and transports need to refuel almost immediately after takeoff or they quickly reach bingo and have to return.

They don't need tankers to follow their flight though, like fighters do.

B2s, and a few things that can't be discussed here, would be a far better indicator, which is why the military goes to such great lengths to hide their activity. I don't have access to any information about their current status. A few critical tanker wings is the best I can offer.

Could we be in the process of sending bombers somewhere with peace time load limits?

The information I have access can't determine that either way.

Could we be in the process of a large scale buildup or initiating a major bombing campaign somewhere as some of the wildest rumors are pushing?

No.

Not without these tankers.

maybe true depends what they were carrying

no way they would load them max cap. with nuclear weapons for Ukraine

they would be smaller warheads.

but in reality if we were going to go to war i think that the first strike would come from destroyers and subs.

iff it were to be kept 'local' we would have to use conventional munitions and maybe strike for strike with small yield nuclear weapons

and to get a few B2's up and on their way could be done pretty easily in secret even with a tanker or two.

i just think we wouldnt risk our B2's or advanced airbreathing ISR aircraft against S300 and S400's IAD systems and modern Russian fighters and BVR missiles

after we hit their IAD's we could just take off with the bombers and tankers and fighters.

the boats would be protected by their own aircraft and defenses

Russia and the US have been preparing for a showdown like this before i was born. so I'm sure ever POSSABLE scenario has been war gammed

Any aircraft that went in before we hit the coast and as far as we could reach to hit their SAM sites would be at extream risk of being shot down.

the question also is how far the US would reach into programs that are in development to attack or make Russian forces not such a risk.

no matter what happens it would cost both sides alot of blood

Some very good points.

(With a few missing pieces)

But I was only debunking the rumors of specific current activity, which cannot be true with these tankers on the ground.

Making no predictions or even observations beyond that.

I hear you and I do not know, but I mentioned the B-52s cause I saw them in the article, and was kind of surprised I actually found them flying. Not saying war is imminent just found it interesting as I did this. They are gathering intelligence like a mother

Those flights happen every day. We have permanently assigned RC-135s and U-2s in the UK, and RQ-4s in Italy and Greece. They fly over multiple areas in the region daily, and have been for years. They rotate aircraft every few months, but they’ve been there for many many years.

The flights over the US are for training. They aren’t collecting data, with the exception of specialized ranges. You don’t send crews to fly in areas where they are collecting much needed intelligence, unless they’ve been trained in both how to fly the aircraft, and how to collect said intelligence.
