Premier Doug Ford declares state of emergency amid protests at land border and in Ottawa

Our Crack-Head in Chief has declared a state of emergency in Ontario:

I will convene cabinet to use legal authorities to urgently enact orders that will make crystal clear it is illegal and punishable to block and impede the movement of goods, people and services along critical infrastructure.

Ford said this will include protecting international border crossings, 400-series highways, airports, ports, bridges and railways.

Ford said fines for non-compliance will be severe, with a maximum penalty of $100,000 and up to a year of jail time.

Additional authority is also being considered to take away the personal and commercial licences of anyone who does not comply with the orders, Ford said.

Do y'all think this will have any influence on the ongoing border blockades in Ontario?

I shouldn't laugh, though. It's pretty sad that the people in "power" in Canada would be more willing to send armed goons to kill Canadians than give them the option to not take drugs. I'm certain the US government feels the same way.

I just hope they remove the children I saw photos of holding hands and blocking the bridge before anything happens. I'm all for peaceful protests but don't use kids as a shield.

I'm not arguing about a peaceful protest. Many of them are until it's declared its an unlawful gathering. Wait till they pull out the LRAD and the cops in full riot gear. That's when the trouble starts.

I fully support peaceful protests.

We are talking about the peaceful protest in Canada. The Freedom Convoy. It's peaceful and will be so unless the police state moves in on it.

I would like you to show me a post in support of a riot from me. I support a peaceful protest and you still call me a liar? What because I'm not in the posts cheering it on incessantly? I have always stated I support a peaceful protest whether I agree with the reason for having it or not.

It appears that you have a personal problem with me.

That is not what I said at all. Protests are often peaceful until the cops get involved. As a mom I would hope the parents remove the children. I'm not cheering for the cops to attack anyone.
