Pretty wild. Ejection seats. What a crazy concept.

I would rather have one than not have the option.

I think a lot of people have sustained rather substantial injuries after having to eject from a plane but aye it's seems a hell of a lot better than the alternative.

He ejected right after impact off the flight deck. That is a hard landing. You can see the ejection 17 seconds in on the left hand side in the leaked video.

That requires more than just a few motrin for recovery I would assume.

I'm not sure about these days but, when I was in the Navy (1982-87), two ejections took you off flight status permanently.

Supposed?

Think that's something to do with strain and force involved where getting shot out a cockpit can place on the neck/spinal column.

Flying a fighter jet in itself would be some buzz but having to eject???!!!

I think i would be needing several pairs of new underwear.

I was qualified to ride in an aircraft with an ejection seat. They went through that as part of the training.

I know a Tomcat RIO who was found to be an inch shorter after an ejection.

With a fighter pilot shortage, nowadays that wouldn't be a good thing. It takes about four years to train a strike fighter pilot... and now Biden's Navy fleet is short of a few hundred fighter pilots.

To top it off, the F-35 has over a ton of software and hardware issues. Plus the next-gen of pilots will have pink hair lol.

I bet China has sent some tiny drones to the bottom of the sea, they are probably laughing at our technology.

6th generation fighters/bombers might now even have pilots per-say.

You could be right... 6th gen fighters could be run by LGBTQ non-binary software code LOL.

Biden doesn't have anything to do with this. The Navy and Air Force pilot shortage has been going on for years. Politics and other social issues also have absolutely nothing to do with this ramp strike. Accidents happen, no matter what aircraft.

As for the F-35 problems, they aren't nearly as numerous as you suggest any longer. The F-35 has matured into a very capable, incredible platform that pilots love, and recognize as the most advanced platform ever built.

Still may have operators of a sorts combined with some form of artificial intelligence that can also be tasked to complete or carry out the mission or elements of such.

As to its sexuality, i dont have a clue, or can see why it would be a thing as long as it does what it says on that big expensive tin.

I would have to disagree, the Biden admin has ramped up military operations in the South China Sea. They signed a Pacific Deterrence Initiative for a billion $$$ in this area. They are taxing military resources with more missions against China in the Indo-Pacific region, thus the need for more money.

I think time will speak for the F-35... how many have crashed or been in the sea?
