Despite the fact that South Africans were promised just in the past few days that we would face no further "load-shedding", sometime this morning that story changed:

In a media briefing on Wednesday (2 February), chief executive Andre de Ruyter said stage 2 load shedding is set to last until 05h00 on Monday, but it may be that the system will improve and there is a successful return of service before then if systems are returned in time. He added that load shedding will not be lifted earlier if emergency power reserves are not restored before the end of the weekend.

Our designated area's darkness begins tonight at 18:00.

Luckily my lap-top batteries last through the darkness, and hearing the news, I thought immediately, what could I download while the wi-fi is still going?

I think I may have interrupted another thread (so sorry), but as the hour of no power draws closer, can anyone suggest a good movie or documentary to watch I can download now?

Something about two hours I should watch, or might find interesting?

Unless the power doesn't come on at all again, which would be catastrophic.
Once the entire grid collapses, you can't just switch it back on, apparently.

In some countries "load-shedding" may be a new term, so what does it actually mean?

When the demand for electricity exceeds supply, sometimes people need to be cut off from power to prevent the whole system from collapsing. This is called load shedding. Here's how it works.

And since most of the "Western world" is now gradually going down the same socialist pit as South Africa, it might be timely to have a peek.

I realize you aren't American, but the documentary "A Good American" on Netflix. It's about Bill Binney, and the corruption inside the IC. It helps explain the mechanisms that allowed 9-11 to take place.

Dating these days, well one of the first questions you'd like to ask:

"Do you have a diesel generator"?

The government can enact lockdowns for everyone just by turning off the electricity in a given area, locking down for whatever reason they choose.

Why I bought a whole house generator. Because rolling blackouts are coming to your town once most people have the electric cars mandated by the federal government. A recipe for control of the peon masses for sure, very socialist.

The best part of long-term Covid effects - loss of smell.

Well if nobody smelled it, nobody dealt it.

Just saying, maybe some are wondering, why's he talking about "deodorant"?

It's not, it's about the sense of smell.

But can't you smell it?

HOW ARE WE EVER SUPPOSED TO POWER ALL THIS 5G
and internet of things..?

power grids are maxxed out NOW.
last time, they made us SWITCH from incandescent to compact fluorescent light bulbs.
my electric useage was cut in HALF,...now everyone got cell phones charging.
and bitcoin mining only gonna go up if used as nwo money.
plus businesses want to EXPAND

making heat with natural gas,
and switching to all electric society.
makes it VERY EASY to SHUT IT ALL DOWN........... with ONE switch!

Big problem.

Yeah try your "voodoo-crap", nothing else works.

So, you must take some hair of the cat, and put it in the dog's food.
