Classified briefings point to the largest invasion of Europe since World War II

By America.

Russian troops are digging in, not mobilizing. They're preparing for an attack.

You really think that those troops are expecting the US to attack them first?

Vlad’s got a point worrying about nato ultimately putting bases and whatnot in Ukraine (as I said above). But I really don’t see the US unilaterally or as part of nato moving first on those Russian troops that have been moved to the boarder. That would be a certifiable move.

Btw, is moving troops not the same as mobilising troops?

In 2020, the United States imported about 7.86 million barrels per day (MMb/d) of petroleum from about 80 countries. Petroleum includes crude oil, hydrocarbon gas liquids, refined petroleum products such as gasoline and diesel fuel, and biofuels (including ethanol and biodiesel). Crude oil imports of about 5.88 MMb/d accounted for about 75% of U.S. total gross petroleum imports in 2020, and non-crude oil petroleum accounted for about 25% of U.S. total gross petroleum imports.

Sounds to me as though Trump's watch wasn't so independent afterall.

So you ok with US meddling and interfering telling Catalonia's regional leaders and pollticans not to have self independence?

Yet some how in Crimea they arent allowed to have independence? why? because the majority of the citizens actually wanted it?

sovereign countries rights to be independent?
Does Catalonia have a right of sovereignty?

As for Ukraine. Once Ukraine joins EU/NATO your nonsense of sovereign and being independent is over. Do you even understand what it means to be independent and sovereign?

It means to be free of both hands. Western and Eastern that means you cant join the EU and NATO nor Russia or be China's puppet or buddy.

What more Russians want ?

I think the real question should what more do Americans want? do they want a Naval base in Crimea? so they could be close with Russia border no more than 18 hours away from Moscow?

Geopolitical blocking Russia access into Europe? Mediterranean sea?

So what do the American govt? NATO EU wants more?

I will be waiting for a reply.

For the last 50 years the West has steadily been creating a sphere of influence that's getting closer and closer to Russia, and is now on it's borders

With that you arent going to see Russia backing down trying to defend itself what it sees as a threat on its borders. What NATO is doing is no different from the Nazis operation Barbarossa of eastern Europe.

What EU and NATO are doing by creating a sphere of influence they are doing no different what the Romans and Nazis did.

It is always described as Russia moving it's forces to the Ukrainian border, When it's Russia moving it's forces to their own Russian border.

maybe because germany used similar tactics to annex multiple neighbors before and during ww2, where if parts of a nation had German enclaves they would use it as justification, just like back then the west ignored it until the Germans launched a full scale invasion of poland.

sure russia isn't doing terrible things like Nazi germany but they are using simlar tactics to expend their territory slowly to prevent a Western full response.

You forget Molotov–Ribbentrop Pact between Russia and Nazi Germany, in it´s secret additional protocol Soviet Union and Nazi Germany made a deal which countries they will annex and promised not to war each other. This pact was introduced to Germany by Soviet Union.
Because Peace Treaty of Versailles due WW1, the size of German defence forces were limited in size and was quite weak in 1939, it also stated that Germany is not allowed to have tanks, aircraft and submarines. With the help of Soviet Union Germany was able to develope all those three mentioned as Germany had no military industry before and had shortage of raw materials.

This is Putin's last hurrah. He can't go on beyond 2024.

He wants to go down in political history as one of the great Russian statesmen.

That doesnt make it lies, it just means we import almost as much as we export.... which is hardly "independent".

No. It means we import 2,868,900,000, that's almost 3 BILLION barrels of petroleum per year from over 80 different countries. You believe that's "energy independence"?
