Bold ass statement there... None around the whole world? Even your local hospital is lying...geez get real..

I am being real. That's what happens when one skews data for so long in so many ways.

Yes, my local hospital is skewing data as well.

As for the stats you posted as an example, they are incomplete. Define "vaccinated." One shot? Two? How many boosters? How long ago? What are the patients in the hospital for?

That's an old, old trick... generalize the data so relevance is generalized out of it, then interpret it the way one wishes. People will invariably fall for it, too... you did.

IMHO... anyone who tries to equate child abuse with medical procedures they have no real information on for a child whose medical condition they are unaware of should be convicted of aggravated child endangerment and never allowed contact with children again.

The problem is the Goverment makes absolute statement in a very variable environment and a week later they are incorrect. Trump tried to flow with the variables and they called him indecisive and erratic, but that is the nature of all this. They need to adjust even weekly to the current situations and they want to hang on what they see as truisms long after they have come and gone. England has basically done away with all mandates, masks, isolation, school closers etc. in one speech. That is what we need to do. Embrace omicrom as a good thing and move on, but they want to keep the fear porn going. Biden and liberals in general are losing at all angles and they are like a corner animal fighting back in some last ditch effort such as they voting bill that didn't make it.

As to boosters, most likely forever, but that doesn't mean everyone needs one or should even get one. It has always been about the old and high risk and that is where it needs to stay.

That is a large part of the problem, yes. The reason behind that reason, however, seems to me to be that applicable data has been ignored since the beginning of 2020. Trump was placed under pressure to minimize the cost of the illness on the population, so he made a mistake and agreed for the Federal government to shoulder that burden for the uninsured. That gave hospitals great incentive to get doctors to list "COVID-19" as the cause of death wherever they could, successfully skewing the death rate.

Of course, the higher the death rate the more serious the virus looked to the public, and the worse things became for Trump. As a result of that political maneuver, all of the data up to this point (and continuing) is skewed and unreliable. artificially shifted toward making the virus seem worse than what it really is. Yes, it can be serious and life-threatening, but not in the numbers we have been given (and even those numbers do not justify the mass hysteria we have been forced to deal with).

If one really wants to see where the political blame for this fiasco lies, look no farther than Andrew Cuomo, a mass-murderer who murdered a large number of elderly citizens in cold blood by forcing them into nursing homes while infected (along with several other governors as well: New Jersey and Michigan to name a couple). Look to Nancy Pelosi, who early on tried to spread the virus as much as possible by encouraging people to visit areas which were likely to become infected. To a lesser degree, look to almost every US governor who implemented face mask mandates and economic lockdowns (both parties; I will be voting against Kay Ivey (R-AL) for governor this year), all of which actually contributed to the spread. As far as I can tell, only one state, South Dakota, refused to give into mandates and lockdowns... my hat is off to their governor.

And of course, these same individuals are also the ones now pressing for vaccine mandates.

Still, I expect nothing to really change significantly in 2022, and I expect Joe Biden to win again in 2024. The people are no longer in control of their national elections. Now our government tells us who will run our government instead of us telling our government. Many have not seen this yet, but they will... after sufficient power has been consolidated to make such knowledge safe for those in office.

Two years ago, I would have held out hope that the UK's change of tactics would be an incentive for the American people to demand the same. Of course, I have become quite the cynic since then, as my previous statement should attest to. But I do agree that is what should happen.

I don't think I would characterize it as "embracing Omicron," although I think I do understand your meaning. I accept Omicron as a normal (more infectious, less dangerous) variant of the original virus, and certainly as a method by which herd immunity might be achieved. My characterization would be more like "accept Omicron," as in, the way we accept that the common cold exists. I'm sure somewhere, someone will pass due to Omicron (if someone hasn't already; I have not heard of any confirmed Omicron deaths, but there may be some) and no death should be embraced.

And yes, I know you did not intend that statement as embracing death... it could be turned that way, however, if one wished to do so. I do not wish such; I accept your meaning.

I'm still a fan of the monoclonal antibodies for treatment over the vaccines, but I will agree that such resources need to be primarily for those who are either high-risk, elderly (60 or over), and who are indicating a serious infection. Some may prefer the vaccine as well; if that is their informed choice, so be it. I simply think the antibodies are more effective.

Let the rest of society live free once again.

Looking at the actual data of who actually died to ARDS is not that far off from a really bad flu season. I estimate no more than 300k total can be said that COVID played the primary roll in their deaths, and it is a running total for years and not 5 months at a time.

Of course, the higher the death rate the more serious the virus looked to the public, and the worse things became for Trump. Infection rate should have never been a part of any primary decision making process. Just like Omicron it should be allowed to do its thing and go away. Dr Zdoggmd has basically talked about it and said that isolation is just delaying the inevitable. It is not if but when you get it, so be prepared and get it and get over it quickly with little issues.

Agree, and a couple more while FL is looking good all around.

I disagree, there is a wave building, and we will se a part of it this year in Nov. Biden is done, been done... The left do not have anyone...

It is about the best thing we could hope for. Viruses will always be there, so having one so weak is basically a vaccine by nature...lol Basically Pox parties scenario.

I view it as a mild cold at best, so lets move on with it and get that herd immunity, vacced the high risk, or use monoclonal antibodies, or whatever helps them. I'm not stuck on vaccines as the one and only treatment, it is just one of many. I would think that since the flu shot typically has 3 strains they will just add their COVID flavor to it each year as one of the strains. I'm not even sure if big Pharma believes in boosters as the Government keep suggesting. Remember when isolation was only about flattening the curve to not over run the medical system and not about the infection rate?

It doesnt sound like the thing I had. I couldnt tell the difference between water, gasoline or vinegar. The smell was gone for the first time in my life so I couldnt care less about the negative tests the 5th and 7th day after a week of fever. I still have nasty cough with rich mucus production a month later.
You had some other # IMO. Or a younger variant.

Covid does not change taste/smell with the Omicron variant. Sounds like you maybe had Delta.

I had delta beginning of November. Fever of 103 for approximately 14hrs, felt more like heat stroke, dizziness afterwards off and on for 2 days, then no taste and smell which carried on for more than a month. Frustrating. My pregnant wife had it as well, runny nose and general malaise for a week. 1 1/2yr old same thing. My 16yr old and 9yr old never caught it the entire way through despite same house, family meals, etc.
My wife's friend who's a nurse and worships pharma disowned her a few months prior to this claiming IF her and everyone around her don't get vaccinated she will either be killing the baby or both her and the baby. Wife tried to take the high road, drew the line when she said she hopes someone takes our kids away for "child endangerment"
Meanwhile, nursey and her nursey friends from Sacramento all take a trip to Alaska, fully vaxxed with matching necklaces, brought covid with them and had to cornteen in their airbnb for an extra 6 days.

Yep....I have had it too!(still do) and I am now after a week and a half ready to get back to life soon. For me it was like a bad flu but I never felt real sick, just kind of out of it.

In what world does being fatigued so bad that you have to stay in bed all day equate to mild? I get sick sometimes, runny nose, diarrhea, and what not, but I can still function. That's what I would call mild. Anything below that is non-existent, aka "not sick". Being bed-ridden all day is definitely not "mild".

I guess I can take the fatigue anytime compared to fever, now that is worst, because you know is an infection somewhere going on.

One study released by the U.K. Health Security Agency Friday found that loss of smell or taste occurred in about 13% of omicron cases tracked by the country’s National Health Service.

I lost my sense of taste and smell.....and I know others that did as well.

I admire your willingness to take another rodeo with corona.I believe corona immunity is a myth or at least exaggerated. And each time you're in a 'Rona fight, your lungs, heart and kidneys might take damage from it. It's kind of like playing russian roulette. Yes, there are a million ways to die, and in the end it's inevitable anyway. But I'm not in a hurry to leave just yet.
