The future is a boot stomping your face forever…or something like that. Just something I read once.

The evil left will get their way and the republicans will facilitate it.

Brandon and the rest of the evil leftists want one party rule.

Forever.

It's looked like we already have one for some years now. The GOP sure didn't seem to have any interest in helping to 'drain the swamp' or get the country back on track during the two years they had to support those efforts.

i just watched the last 15 mins of his speech.

he said a bunch of other crazy stuff too.

50 presidents, vote suppression and of course the repubs are the bad guys.

listening to applauses, it sounded like 25 people tops.

it was a total bust in my opinion.

anyone else catch some of it? what did miss?

They will pass Mail In Voting forever at any price.

It is their ticket to endless election fraud and EVERYONE knows it.

definition of poetic justice:

Democrats get rid of the filibuster.

Manchin switches to republican, giving the GOP a 51-49 majority.

One could only hope.

what is truly amazing is those calling for YET ANOTHER law/right/protection to be removed for their gain is that it WILL NOT IF turn on them.

countless lessons of history from well intentioned to the dictatorships have shown this.

ancient rome the senators and people wanted a ceaser / ultimate ruler.

for every good one you got more true despots like Caligula.

those leading the french revolution were turned on by others in their cause for not being "dedicated" enough.. why called the year of madness

those from the SA that supported hitler were WIPED OUT by the very dictator they put into power.

stalin killed off almost all of the founders of the communist party along with lots of "common people" in purges.
all of who were dedicated supporters.

hell even the royal family of england turned on supporters on a dime if they were not useful. in early days you wish you were just fired.

what i am getting at is the USA is unique because the founders tried hard as hell to put in protections to stop or limit these from happening

once you remove them ANYONE from mother teresa to a hitler type (and all in between) can use it. for truly good or truly evil... but the truly good is seldom

whats the saying... the pathway to hell is paved with good intentions

along with

those who do not learn CORRECTLY from history are DOOMED TO REPEAT IT.

When were (R)s all in favor of getting rid of it ? 🙀

How about during the Civil Rights era (which I remember but I suspect you don't) when they filibustered and ran any number of other tactics to prevent the passage of anti-lynching bills.

And that's just one of many examples.

I'm older than you, and murder has been illegal and punishable everywhere for a very long time.

Good example for thought though of how they like to micromanage and nit-pick existing laws 😎

It's a good idea. At one point the Republicans were all in favor of getting rid of it.

This would seem to be demonstrably false considering the simple fact that they had a majority and, miraculously, did not get rid of the filibuster.

They were filibustering and "all in favor" of getting rid of the filibuster while they were using it!?!? This doesn't seem to be a logical argument you're making.

Of course he does. It will allow a single party to have unconditional control over the country.
