The last image is of " Hickory Switches " that my Grandmother would make me pick out of the bushes and then she would beat me with them .

I always deserved the beating

Did you always pick a light switch?

Number 3 is throwing me.

Oh that sting is not something you ever forget.

I had totally forgotten about it. I read the post I linked, and it said it's banned in the US due to high mercury content. Mercurochrome. And yes, it stung worse than the original injury. You learn to keep sh!t to yourself when that was around.

Grandma had an arm. We would go thin and accept the snap. It hurt worse at the time, but didn't last as long. But you got to be tough.

It can still be bought in Europe. They even have a clear version, decolourised somehow.

It's excellent for foot fungal infections... I'm sure I read people talking about mushrooms a few pages back.

I am going 100% with Nightflight. If you haven't felt the pain of putting Metholate (sp) on a skin mark, well, lets just say it hurts more than any switch I cut.

Got them all.

But the last one was a trick, because while everyone should know what they are,
you have to know what they were actually used for.
Shutters.

Sucked, when you had to pick it yourself first.

Earliest evidence of the Mandela Effect too. Everyone always thought it was called iodine.

A cup-holder for plastic coffee-cups, and a door-hinge.
That is, something to pass the time in your room. and something that helps keep other people out.

You are not the only one that said this, and NONE of you will be building any doors for us in our post-apocalyptic world.
Do you even know what a door hinge is?

I am a householder. I understand the function.
A piece of metal screws into the door, another into the door-frame, and they are connected by something which allows a degree of rotational movement so that doors may be opened or shut.
