Live updates: CDC may soon demand test to leave isolation

WASHINGTON — As the omicron variant surges across the United States, top federal health officials are looking to add a negative test along with its five-day isolation restrictions for asymptomatic Americans who catch the coronavirus, the White House’s top medical adviser said Sunday.

Dr. Anthony Fauci said the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is now considering including the negative test as part of its guidance after getting significant “pushback” on its updated recommendations last week.

apnews.com...

They want to test people who complete their new 5 day quarantine. Some employers mandate this anyway so it’s not entirely a new thing - but it’s going to be a PITA for those looking to get into long lines for tests (which is painfully ironic to see people lining up for C19 tests, but anyway…).

Here’s the problem…

Why Some Patients Test Positive For COVID-19 Even After Complete Recovery?

In this whole ongoing COVID-19 pandemic situation in the country, one potential cause of concern right now is that some recovered coronavirus patients are testing positive even after days from their recovery. So what is the reason behind testing positive even after getting recovered? According to a new study, some virus RNA can be reverse transcribed and inserted into the human genome, which may explain why some people who had already recovered from Covid-19 would sometimes inexplicably test positive on a PCR test weeks or even months later

People test positive after recovery! They’re feeling fine, able to work, heck - they’re probably out exercising! But nope… you failed your test so more isolation for you!

If it turns out that by virtue of testing people at scale we get a lot of positives from people who have recovered or have no symptoms then what?

This will be hell for employers, livelihoods, the supply chain issues and more if more positive but otherwise asymptomatic people have to “isolate”.

Add to that a fair number of pissed off, “heathy” but positive people who get forced to enjoy the great indoors again.

If enacted, I suspect this program that Fauci speaks of won’t go well. Clown world is here to stay - common sense didn’t just leave the building it walked outside and spontaneously combusted - it be gone.

SMH.

Do we even have an accurate test?

Sounds like they got chit loads of faulty tests they need to get rid of..

People just can't stop lining up for anything 'free' the government offers!

If people would stop getting those damn PCR tests nobody would even know Omicron was going around. Anything to keep those numbers climbing! I wish people would stop being so compliant and start using a little common sense.

There is also a thing called . False positives....well known due to inaccurate and faulty test equipment

Ha!

C19 causes global warming - we must end the pandemic now - gotta save the planet and scrap this whole C19 thing!

The world is such a tangled fluster cuck it’s just laughable.

Well the pcr test was a poor choice of tool for the job...like trying to hammer in a screw. Even worse was the fact a lot of places ran the pcr too many cycles so again it was giving a lot of false positives. Not sure what is the common test these days but I bet its still pcr.

Good reason not to go into isolation.

Okay, joking aside. Is this voluntary testing and isolation? Or are they planing for something else?

Yup. That is the unsaid implication.

In other words, we shut down economy and uprooted society over false positives....

This has actually been the norm in much of Europe since 2020.

Nothing big, nothing new. Just America behind the curve yet again.

Biden announces half a billion free home Covid tests to fight Omicron

Half a billion at-home coronavirus tests will be sent free to the American public in the fight against Omicron, Joe Biden announced on Tuesday, while pushing back against resistance to vaccine mandates by saying they are intended “not to control your life, but to save your life”.

Only one problem there, Brandon…

Many employers will ONLY ACCEPT TEST RESULTS FROM CERTIFIED TESTING CENTERS!

Why?

BECAUSE PEOPLE WILL LIE TO BE ABLE TO WORK OR TO DO THINGS THEY ENJOY!

You think people who are feeling fine will test? I wouldn’t. Why would I? I’m not sick… “BUT YOU ARE SICK!”… nope, not sick.

Plus, having done an at home COVID test out of sheer curiosity, I can absolutely see someone screwing that process up. Lots of someone’s, actually.

This testing all sounds eloquent and smart to the academics of the world and the mouth breathing masses who want the government to be their forever parent but in practice I doubt it makes a dent.

This program works with enforcement - which would result in some nasty control mechanisms that wouldn’t land well.

Watch - testing becomes a back-door way to make this a “federal issue” which can then create a “federal solution” despite Joe’s recent declaration… which should have been stated truthfully… “we don’t have a Federal solution, but we’d like one, so for now this is a state issue but we’ll fix that the moment we think we can.”

I didn’t look yet but figured I’d ask you first…

Is there any discernible data that EU testing requirements led to better health outcomes in the EU vs. the US that is specifically attributable to testing? Serious question.

Testing from employer mandates has been going on here for some time as well, btw. From experience, it didn’t appear to stop the spread but it did create a ton of anxiety and human capital issues.

It’s ~$300 for a test at a local testing center if you don’t have insurance (but most insurance companies cover it).

If $300 is representative of the average, certified out of pocket cost for a lab-administered test then so much money is about to change hands it will be too hard to conceal - you’ll probably figure out who’s getting paid.

At this point with all the statistical Data coming out .

The PCR test combined with all the False Positives and its initial inaccuracies differentiating Between Sars-Cov19 and Influenza , the argument could be made there would have been no Pandemic .

www.cdc.gov...

In preparation for this change, CDC recommends clinical laboratories and testing sites that have been using the CDC 2019-nCoV RT-PCR assay select and begin their transition to another FDA-authorized COVID-19 test. CDC encourages laboratories to consider adoption of a multiplexed method that can facilitate detection and differentiation of SARS-CoV-2 and influenza viruses. Such assays can facilitate continued testing for both influenza and SARS-CoV-2 and can save both time and resources as we head into influenza season. Laboratories and testing sites should validate and verify their selected assay within their facility before beginning clinical testing.

That kind of definitive isn't really possible when you have hundreds of other confounding factors, but I'm sure there will be either a completely unconnected bit of data or an outright unsourced fabrication that it's totally proven to work.

Maybe Africa is the true representation of how the virus would have played out if not for the Government and complicit media/tech companies:

HARARE, Zimbabwe (AP) — At a busy market in a poor township outside Harare this week, Nyasha Ndou kept his mask in his pocket, as hundreds of other people, mostly unmasked, jostled to buy and sell fruit and vegetables displayed on wooden tables and plastic sheets. As in much of Zimbabwe, here the coronavirus is quickly being relegated to the past, as political rallies, concerts and home gatherings have returned.

“COVID-19 is gone, when did you last hear of anyone who has died of COVID-19?” Ndou said. “The mask is to protect my pocket,” he said. “The police demand bribes so I lose money if I don’t move around with a mask.” Earlier this week, Zimbabwe recorded just 33 new COVID-19 cases and zero deaths, in line with a recent fall in the disease across the continent, where World Health Organization data show that infections have been dropping since July.

But those pesky western heath officials have a reason and a warning - a warning that was never needed:

Scientists emphasize that obtaining accurate COVID-19 data, particularly in African countries with patchy surveillance, is extremely difficult, and warn that declining coronavirus trends could easily be reversed.

I read that to mean in places where we didn’t obsess over the virus, jab a huge swatch of the population and want to test everyone… low and behold it wasn’t much of a problem (on a continent with some of the lowest healthcare resources and quality on the planet!)
