I recently started a podcast.
We have 2 episodes published and live right now and The 3rd is being edited for release.

I was using Anchors audio editor - which is an absolute nightmare.

We have some experts on ATS in this field, so I was hoping someone could recommend a good audio software?
I need to be able to zoom into my audio with precision and remove background noises, or breaks in the conversation.
I found HokuSia 2, yesterday and for a pretty simplistic app, it works pretty good.
But we’re planning on adding video to the pod in the early new year, so I’m going to need something a bit more robust.

Any recommendations?

Also, another thing I noticed is my Mic seems to pick up every little noise. My throat gurgles, it’s getting picked up.
My lips make a slight smacking noise just as I say a word - it gets picked up.

How do I combat this?
It’s such a pain to edit.

Just for reference, im using an Astro 50 wired mic and headset.

For video and audio, we use www.adobe.com...
Slight learning curve but worth it for the final professional product.

For mic's we use a Sennheiser 416 for everything, either directly into the camera or to a separate recorder and sync in post.

And does the mic pick up that wet clicking sound when you start a sentence?

It’s almost like it’s too sensitive or something

PS Use windscreen on mics

No such thing as too sensitive.

YOUR positioning to IT....means everything....and practice takes

Someone already mentioned Adobe but that can be pricy. You could have a look at Audacity which is free. There's also Ableton and Presonus. (These may be audio only?)

Sorry, I don't do a whole lot of video work...just DJing. I occasionally have to use Audacity if I need to add drops or fix an oops in my set.

Best of luck.

I have never used one of these units, but all the rode products we have used in the past have been good.

rode.com...

and Zoom has an affordable unit as well. And still use an old H4n for run and gun applications but looking to expand with the Zoom Q8 combo.

I get what you mean about LDC mics picking up spit sound. Electro-Voice RE-20 is a great broadcast mic for that old school, smooth FM voice. Borrow one if you can. Great for bass guitar and kick drums also.

Thanks a lot to all the suggestions so far!
I’m looking into them all now.

I use a Blue Yeti Pro. Fantastic quality. Better quality output than YouTube can handle. It may be overkill but I like this mic.
