I have been a member here for over 12 years and sometimes
"complain" about those pesky T&C rules myself, but they're
very necessary.

I know Mama, I rarely even get crumbs

I don't ever complain about the rules, what's the point? The rules are the rules, complaining about them is just childish, and never works anyway. I'm hoping that this thread helps others find more effective and less frustrating ways to accomplish exactly the same thing, without violating T&C.

Rules are absolutely necessary, but few are as black and white as the previous example, and I came up with a potential way to discuss it here within T&C after approx 5 minutes of thought.

Most of the time it's much easier than that, just requires a little creativity and impulse control.

Take a look at my posts elsewhere over the past day, and look carefully. I've been intentionally flaunting this ability to accomplish things that are technically prohibited, without any Mod actions, as examples for this thread idea.

No Mod was aware of my intentions, but a few probably giggled when they saw what I did.

Hopefully no cats were crushed.

Hope the examples don't get deleted now.

See the delicate dance?

Politely dancing though the T&C maze is usually far more effective than the other options, but requires a little more thought before posting.

If still interested, take a look at my posts from the couple days before that where I was intentionally pushing certain T&C boundries without any serious violations. Effective, frequently biting posts, that were dancing to that same T&C song in a different way.

While very different tactics, both were extremely effective at times, while never putting me in any real danger of a serious violation.

It isn't magic, or 'biased' Mods, it's just a subtle word dance to avoid T&C obstacles.

FAR more effective than just raging at whatever.

I LOVE your cookie bit, always have.

Have witnessed you completely stop rapidly escalating threads with no Mod attention required!

Not joking in any way, it's a really great tool to use in a lot of ways.

It's absolutely brilliant, and personally think you could have a lot of fun and success if you ever wanted to expand the bit in even more ways.

I've been doing something similar as an example over the past day with a simple little unicorn bit. There is just NO effective way to continue the raging absurdity after getting a cookie rejection letter or repeated demands for unicorn pics.

Helps us manage ourselves instead of angering mods, while still making our stern objection to something or someone obvious, and staying well within T&C.

Tactics like this can be EXTREMELY effective when used properly, and can significantly improve overall politeness levels while still slapping those that need to be slapped.

Wonder how many have been kicked off here for pursuing valid reasons beyond a PM or 2 and not getting it.

I've seen an almost uncountable number over the years.

And even when mods do answer (most are very good about this, but we all have lives to live), they aren't really allowed to provide advice on how to make a point without breaking the rules, only to explain what the rules are.

I'd like to offer more than that if we ever find an acceptable way to do it as users, I don't think mods could participate in giving editorial advice

Everyone benefits when any users's ATS skills improve. Nobody here wants one side of any kind of issue to 'win' a debate only because his or her opponent was unskilled in the ways of ATS, we want the 'winner' to always be the 'side' with the actual facts, or best theory possible.

Why else would anyone be here in the first place?

Well that, and all the free tinfoil in the dumpster around back.

I think DTOM is my guardian ATS angel.
Beer has loosed my tongue a "few" times and luckily those post get removed.
I have complained a few times to find out why and have always ended up seeing the error of my ways.
Once I even thought it was a conspiracy that another mod was removing my post.

100% Agree!

Am hoping the discussions here will help during that prepost thought process.

As in think beyond just whether you 'should' post that obvious rage or T&C violation, and instead move up to the next level and think about how to be even more effective than you thought that rage post would have been (they RARELY work out as you think they will anyway) by just being politely biting in some creative way.

Just like your cookie bit.

They won't delete this thread. It stays as it is more valid in context, than the one removed.

Only the mod themselves will answer you.

Freedumb of speech is a financial idea and not a Serf reality. Look around. All speech that dissents against the controlling Global Financial system's narrative must be silenced. Just basic Accounting.

I'm not entirely sure what you are bragging about. The only time I've had posts removed is when I've intentionally made threatening comments to another member. Otherwise, the mods let me say whatever is on my mind and I assume it's true for other people.

It's much more fun to channel that rage into your creative side, and can be very effective too.

Why would anyone ever rage post here anyway?

I never understood that part myself, the whole idea just seems dumb to me.

As if anyone anywhere cares that some random 'person' on the internet has feelz about something?

Behavior like this has already destroyed many sites, and has done a whole lot of damage here.

For absolutely no reason.

Do people walk into their neighborhood store and start verbally assaulting strangers while throwing merchandise around?

Not where I live.

I also live here.

And I don't want to move.

There is an art form of how to tell someone to do something to themselves without telling them to do something to themselves.

You may find that some are more artistic than others. The staff do notice. It is discussed. And sometimes there is just enough ambiguity for someone to get away with it.

And other times on very rare occasion…it was just that good that it has to stand.
